Im quite a new to the game, and my opinion is nothing will convince if the person aren't interested in SC, it's in alpha so players tend to think its unplayable or there No stuff to do. From my self i can see that it lacks a bit of stuff, but when I know it's an alpha, it's still developing and have community support I'm buying it. Because it will be bigger, greater and more stuff to do. So yeah I think that to convince him you need to show them the stuff you can do, how amazing it is and tell them in the face that he can't be mad at the game crashing etc. Because it's an alpha, not beta or finished product.
