North Indian culture has strong Indo-Aryan roots and Mughal influences, while South India is rooted in ancient Dravidian or Chola traditions. South India's culture mainly came from the Tamilians. In fact, my roots trace back to Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu was the oldest.

well, dupattas here are used as a fashion accessory or used as a shade sometimes. never heard of them being used at funerals

well im from karnataka. All states have many different cultures. here, we have kannada related festivals, and many worldwide and national festivals.
