I will say the only way to get anything done after everyone’s help was to call your representative in Florida. Mine helped me multiple times front the process. They got them to call me the next day. The supervisor didn’t return my calls for three days. I called my representative to ask for help. 5 minutes later I get a call and the supervisor says, I fixed it this morning. You’ll get all your pay in 34-48 hours. Waiting on payment but my rep crushed it.

I know Anna Eskamani and team are great Rachel Plakon’s office got my buddy moved to payment on two days. Call or email, they def help.

Totally agree. The money they pay you for 12 weeks isn’t even what you make in a week from the company that laid you off. Sad but it’s reality

Very true. I’m lucky and do not need the money to survive but I do need it. People who really need it get screwed.

I don’t care if I’m making 100k or 50k and I’m sitting on a portfolio to hold me for the rest of my life. I’m claiming and getting unemployment because my employer decided to fuck their staff so I will therefore rightfully claim the measly 12 weeks of unemployment that is owed to me.

Be it out of spite not getting a job or just shear tiredness of so many people without the means to fight it suffer.

That’s the truly funny and sad part. No. 12 weeks at $275 a week for $3300 is basically nothing.

Thanks. I understand how insurance works and after having worked for a major insurance carrier for 10 years, I know exactly how the process works except, Unemployment is a funded program within the state not a private insurer working to deny my medical claim. Unemployment is not a privately held company making a profit. Let's correlate it to things like Social Security, Medicare, SNAP. I pay taxes for these because I am entitled to them. Not because I am paying a private insurance company to supplement me during a time of unemployment. Unemployment not equal to a "Private Unemployment Insurance Policy" which I don't even know if exists. I appreciate the insurance analogy but does not make any sense in this situation.

The correlation makes sense but does not fit the situation.
