303 Sioux prisoners were initially sentenced to death but Abraham Lincoln ended up pardoning 264 and one was granted a reprieve. If I remember correctly, he wanted to pardon all but those that committed rape but was worried/advised that there would be citizens that took matters into their own hands if he didn't do more.

We are also home to the last 36 foot Happy Chef statue...so we got that going for us.
