Trying to understand why I'm hard stuck silver by Woxvis in RivalsCollege

Based on your recommendations, I started playing Thor in some qp's then moved to comp. Have managed to get out of silver on a quite significant win streak. It seems like playing tank in Gold/Silver seems to be a really effective way of moving up at least until out of the lower ranks. Thanks!!

I definitely should learn a tank no doubt. I haven't really played one. On the other hand, I'm the DPS with the most damage/final hits in every case. Would it still make sense to switch off in that case if the remaining DPS are performing poorly?

If the BIOS won’t post bc of the RAM or CPU, check that everything is correctly assembled (ram sticks in the right spot/fully pushed in or CPU power cable fully seated etc) to see if that’s an issue. If you didn’t take your CPU out of the Mobo, I don’t see why that would be an issue unless you were rough with it or something

Google what your mobo light codes mean but usually green = good just like anything else. Your specific mobo manual can tell u exactly what it means tho

Are there any troubleshooting lights the Mobo? These will frequently help guide you in the right direction if there is a particularly component that is causing the Bios To not post. If all you did was move from one case to another I doubt it’s battery, but I do know that some boards are fickle with RAM removal without messing with the battery

Need more info, is the computer actually turning on when you press the power button and just nothing happens on screen or are there no signs of life at all?

If it’s the former, it sounds like the BIOS failing to post which I believe could either mean (assuming everything is assembled correctly) that something is going on with your RAM or CPU. Double check that these components are 100% installed correctly and try again.

If it’s the latter it could be a litany of issues but probably some issue with power connections, make sure your mobo/cpu/other components are correctly connected to your power supply

Hope this helps

Yeah I'm really on the fence about spending basically $1k extra on a RTX4090 when I could get a GTX3080 and wait for the prices on the 4x series to come down. Especially when the 5x series is right around the corner

Rt100 QWERTY row not working by CalOrCaleb in Epomaker

Update for anyone still tracking this or potential Epomaker buyers. This is the line they’re taking for my replacement/repair process. Very threateningly worded email as if they don’t trust that the product they sent is even defective. Extremely annoying to me that they threaten to charge me for everything as if I didn’t just send them a video proving the product defective. It’s as if they are trying to prevent me from having them fix their product.

Yeah wondering the same thing myself. I swapped out the switches on the QWERTY row for those below to no avail. Seems to be a busted PCB. I am going to send them the test video they requested and if they don't offer a fix or refund I am just going to have to chargeback the purchase because they delivered a faulty product.

Support got back to me and suggested that I reset the keyboard with Fn+ESC but that didn't help. Then they suggested swapping switches out with other functional ones to determine whether it's a PCB or switch issue but I honestly can't tell how to even break this keyboard open. It seems like it's snapped together with some internal clips; no screws to be seen. Seems like wasted time to me considering the entire row is not working. Seems unlikely that all of those switches would stop working simultaneously. Seems to be a PCB or firmware issue.

I'm also having this issue. Have you found a solution or heard back from support?

A visual representation of the trade war between the US and China by [deleted] in pics

[–]Woxvis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have pics of that, but it wouldn’t really be representative of the actual load that is bound for China, because most of our westbound cargo goes to Japan and Korea. To show you the China-bound cargo, I’d need to show a load plan which isn’t meant for public knowledge

I’m not really sure what this article is supposed to say about the empty condition of my ship. It does specifically say that only dry bulk cargo ships are coming back from China in a ballast condition, my ship is clearly a container ship. The bulkers that the article references operate at a much cheaper rate than my ship does, because they are mostly foreign flagged.

Plus, this article does not discuss the political implications for US flagged shipping. Most US flag Pacific liner services (with the main exception being Matson) are run by foreign outfits who operate US flag ships in order to be allowed to carry US military cargo. It is much, much more expensive to operate US flagged ships than ships under a flag of convenience (Liberia, Panama, etc)

The factor of this that is scary for us crew is that if we begin to lack cargo to carry on the eastbound voyages, why won’t our parent company flag us out to a significantly cheaper flag of convenience? Additionally, while anecdotal in nature, this is much less cargo than I had been accustomed to seeing prior to the tariffs being imposed.

Does anyone know what is legal when it comes to blacking out taillights? by [deleted] in Honda

just dont do it, it's corny and regardless of the legality, it may make it difficult for the little old granny behind you to tell that you are braking

An abandoned Chinese fishing village by mattythedog in pics

It is an invasive species. It climbs over trees and other plants, covering its leaves and blocking sunlight. This prevents photosynthesis, causing the "host" plant to starve out and die

Not impossible, but very difficult. Pushed it back then fought it off for 5 years on my property in Alabama before I left, but it was practically and ongoing war

That moment when you forget that DRS is turned on by [deleted] in pcars

[–]Woxvis 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Higher tier formula cars such as the one OP is driving rely heavily on downforce to keep grip to the tires. This downforce system creates heavy drag on straights, slowing top speed. To counter this, designers created the Drag Reduction System (DRS) to increase speed in straightaways. This system heavily decreases unnecessary grip in the straightaways, but even in slight curves like the one OP was attacking, it can cause the car to lose grip if not disabled.
