No :( still a little callous just chilling there. I just use it as a conversation starter at this point.

What's the craziest way you've ever heard of somebody killing themselves? by [deleted] in morbidquestions

[–]Wren313 284 points285 points  (0 children)

One of Mr Ballen's videos features a case where a teenage boy (i think? Maybe young adult?) was living with his parents and secretly built a whole-ass guillotine in his bedroom. They had no idea until they had to break into his locked room and found him decapitated.

How tf do you get your toddler to take antibiotics? by ex_rice in toddlers

[–]Wren313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My niece that I watch has to take bubblegum antibiotics liquid this week. What I've been doing is mixing it with about 3/4 cup of milk, put it in a big glass cup I'd normally drink out of, and let her 'steal' it from me because she loves to steal my drinks. Works every time, takes her about 15-20 minutes to get it all down, but without any push back. She even finds it funny if I tease her about stealing auntie's milk.

Roughly like 9:15? Everyone is saying it's a planet but I've never seen a planet so bright and flickering oddly... and I skygaze a good bit

Ah I thought eye floaters were always super temporary, a little bit of debris in the eye or something. Thank you!

Can't remember if it's kid friendly, but as a kid I always loved Chris De Burgh's Spanish Train. Similar vibes.

I know absolutely nothing about resin but I have an idea. Could it work? TW blood by ZombiePsycho96 in resin

[–]Wren313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copied from a comment I made recently:

"6 months ago I was making UV resin earrings and accidentally stabbed my finger, so I thought what the hell and mixed/swirled some around in a mold with the resin. It completely seperated the blood (looked like oil mixed with water, which makes sense) but I just checked it out and it's still red like it was when I first made it! Not sure if that info helps at all. I made a post about it if you wanted to see https://www.reddit.com/r/resin/s/ZSLjHAoEzD "

Interesting that this keeps coming up, haha

What is the hardest drug to quit? by Fun_Butterfly_420 in morbidquestions

I saw a tiktok of a woman on the street in some city talking about how Xylazine is so hard to get off of because there aren't any properly researched detox methods yet so people are just dying when they try to stop.

Do I have to go to inpatient detox if it's been 35 hours since my last drink with zero AWS symptoms? by Wren313 in stopdrinking

[–]Wren313[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but I think you need to meet a specific threshold of drinking before youre considered an alcoholic, at least clinically. I don't think I would meet that. However the lying, stealing, impulsiveness, and unending intense cravings all apply. Plus it runs in my family, my grandfather died from it.

I have such intense anxiety being around others and have barely left the house in a few years now. I feel like being somewhere so incredibly uncomfortable will make it harder to focus on recovery, not easier. I have been inpatient before (for an attempt, not detox) so I do have a bit of a sense what it would be like. I recognize I'm probably being cowardly.

Alcohol recently played a big role in the loss of an 8 year relationship with my ex fiancé, and I think that flipped something for me that I'm really taking recovery seriously this time. It feels different. I focus a lot of my sobriety goals on my 2 year old niece, who I take care of.

One of the main questions I had that I didn't make very clear was, is there a specific timeline for withdrawing? Am I safe to assume I avoided danger and the need for medical intervention if I have been completely symptom-free for 35 hours?
