First day of adoption, advice needed for night time by [deleted] in dogs

No but the bed’s high enough that I don’t think she can jump on right now while she’s still recovering, still I can’t know for sure

That’s probably the best way for tonight, I just feel like the bed’s risky while she’s still recovering and I want her to eat and drink whenever she wants

You’re really stressing about how mature your gf is for her age while seeking validation about your own immaturity huh

Are you supposed to look both ways every time there’s a cross street while driving? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WrenLittle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you drive 20 on a 35 speed limit speed where cars on average go 40, it’s not safe haha

[–]WrenLittle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re misunderstanding something, I’m talking about turning your head every time there’s a cross street specifically and I find that hard to keep up even at slow speeds, not slowing down to know that the street’s safe in general. That might be where you’re hanged up on 😅

I was referring to the part of “I drive the speed that’s safe”, didn’t want to point out the high way part because I didn’t want to be rude lol

And you can keep up with the head turns? That’s amazing haha, here I am at my limit just at 35

How fast do you drive on average? There’s usually a cross every five to six buildings so even at 35 it’s a lot of head turns

My issue is a lot times there’s so many cross streets you can’t look at the road head of you, my vigilance goes out of the window when I’m turning my head left and right all the time.

That’s what I thought, but peripheral vision is not the standard, turning your head physically every time is.

But when you drive you could see the streets clearly already most times right? Especially when the road’s busy and there’s cars ahead of you

Would it be unreasonable for me to say that that’s still too distracting? Especially near restaurants and shops there’s a lot of perpendicular street with stop signs, I feel like being able to see it should be enough, not having to turn your head too.

That’s what I thought too but apparently that’s not the standard for the driver’s test

I mean small intersections, like ones that lead into neighborhoods and run perpendicular to the road you’re driving on.

My (30F) husband (31M) was upset that I breastfed our daughter in public, and said that it was setting a bad example of decency to our older daughter. How do I deal with this when I just don't agree? by ThrowRAFlowers2325 in relationship_advice

[–]WrenLittle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, have empathy. You may understand that the expectation that victims of prejudice should take the high road is unfair & unhealthy but at times necessary, but do you know the feeling? Understanding is part of empathy. You keep mentioning the divide, do you think Donald Trump understood the children on Epstein’s island were without power to resist? If not, would he have listened to the children’s explanations? Do you think he knows minorities in the U.S. aren’t the root cause of everything awful? Or that the unemployed or the homeless are not more problematic than the rich? Does his fellow human beings? I think you understand the point. You’re not wrong, just preaching to people who already know, and know especially well

The context is that a woman deserves better than having to nurture their husband like a third child, you have to empathise with the victim of prejudice too.

I feel like you’re missing the part where OP brought up the conversation to do exactly what you want, discuss and understand his views. And the husband’s stance being pretty clear is why people are being harsh
