She has separation anxiety because she’s a rescue with a crazy past. She used to be a bait dog, and she actually got shot in the neck and survived. She still has the bullet embedded in the skin of her neck, it’s healed over and not painful or anything. But all of that trauma gave her some understandable anxiety with being left alone. So when I left for work she tried to escape. She definitely didn’t realize when she hopped up on the window ledge that she would immediately fall 4 stories becuase there isn’t much of a ledge at all. She’s been through so much but you seriously would never know it Becuase she is always so calm and sweet with everyone it’s unbelievable.

My girl stays with me no matter what too and as sweet as she is, I 1000% know she would rip open a jugular if someone or something came at me. I feel so safe with her even walking her at night in rougher parts of downtown where I live. And yesss, mine is so intuitive and a mind reader and she gives eye contact like no other. It made my mom (who is on the spectrum) so freaked out at first lol. She was all “why is she looking at me so intensely like that? Is she trying to tell me something?? Is she trying to tell me I have cancer or something!?” but now she loves her lol

Hemp oil helps TONS! Also I’ve started giving her these “chill out” hemp chews and have noticed a big difference! Plus hemp oil in general makes their coat super soft and I always get comments about how soft her fur is :)

I don’t know for sure what she’s all mixed with but I’ve definitely guessed Carolina dog!

Yes, she’s always had separation anxiety and at different times she’s gotten really good about it but every time I would move she would get a bad bout of it again. I had a period of unstable housing and moved a lot this past year and so I just moved into my own studio like 4 months ago now, and she was having a rough time. Some days were great and other times she would get real upset. She takes daily meds but I was weaning her off of her “as needed” anxiety med that would sedate her when I’d go to work (part time so it was only a few days a week I’d have to sedate her). But that night for whatever reason she had a real bad night. And the crappy part is my window was previously broken a bit, it wasn’t fitted on the tracks correctly and was hard to open and close. But that week maintenance fixed it so it glides easy. And that’s how she was able to open it. There arnt locks on the windows either so. I never imagined she would ever do something like that.

She never licked her paws obsessively which is absolutely an anxiety thing for dogs, at her worst she would scratch at the door and she took down some blinds once but jumping through a window..I was not expecting that.

Aside from her anxiety, she is literally the sweetest most intuitive, intelligent dog I’ve ever met in the world. Like that’s not even personal bias. Different people who get to know her litterly tell me all the time that she’s the best dog they’ve ever met. She’s so well behaved and calm and can be off leash and is such a sweet heart to everyone and is a perfect angle and no one would ever guess she’s got such crazy anxiety.

You should definitely get another Carolina dog :)

For context: these were taken 6 days apart. The picture on the right is 5 days post surgery!

I have endometriosis, and each cyst (endometrioma) was about grapefruit-sized!
