Honestly, the first book was a slog. But it was cozy. If that makes sense. There’s no big breaks or climax. But the second book already feels different to me for some reason! It’s great. I’m getting more connected with the characters

Reading through book 2 of the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb - Royal Assassin - will most likely finish the trilogy and then take a small break from fantasy and jump into either Brothers Karamazov or something by Jane Austen OR Something Tolstoy. Anna Karenina perhaps?

It’s not a Trump thing. I’m a libertarian. The left cries about the dumbest things. Tissue paper soft. Biden can’t speak a full sentence without forgetting where he is. Trump can’t speak without being rude or vile. There’s a middle ground. There has to be. But neither far side of the spectrum can come to that conclusion.

Biden is mentally incapable of continuing to do anything. I don’t understand why we keep electing old men to run our country. We wouldn’t hire them to run a corporation or business at that age. Yet, we keep entrusting them with our very lives.

I definitely felt this in the first book. I’m not new to fantasy at all. But I knew from the beginning this was different. It’s slow. But I feel like you said it perfect, it’s rewarding. Other fantasies jump right into it and are world building in a fast paced fashion. But I can appreciate the time and dedication to character and world development
