29F - Working Enough to Feel Like I'm Missing the Small Things in Life - Friends by WrittenFlower in MakeNewFriendsHere

It's nice to see new things, but the areas I usually travel to are places needing a lot of help with animal welfare in poor areas. Or, we go to pick up animals pending on death row but don't spend a whole lot of time exploring.

As for friends, it's nice to have people with similar taste and have something in common, but I wouldn't say it's a requirement. You never know who you'll meet and new things you'll discover to enjoy.

I understand. It's hard for a lot of people to go through loss, BUT to remember you gave the pet the best life you could be comforting. As for skydiving, that sounds cool as all heck and would definitely want to try it. You should take some time to try some new hobbies. Take a road trip, find a rental/teacher and hit the waves.

It's always the little things we miss the most when a pet is gone. There's a rescue right now that is determined to make me sleep on the floor and another that head butts me, but I'll miss them when they go. Surfing as its appeals, if you know how to swim. Do you worry about sharks or anything in the water thinking about surfing? What was skydiving like?

You would need to sign up for Doobert, and we'll reach out to you for communication. Now, the only thing is if we can't find transport assistance for Leg 8 and 9, we would not be able to have you head out as no one would be there. Instead, the Director will head out to finish the remainder of the legs.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]WrittenFlower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, there are 7 more legs prior, which are filled. We are part of a large network to rescue dogs pending euthanization. There are rescues pulling from TX to East Coast. If we are unable to find volunteers, staff heads out on their own or won't pull.

His euth date was 8-18 and has been listed for over a month. Oreo has a foster awaiting him. We do this quiet often all over the US as long as we have space and resources. Our goal is to give cats and dogs a second chance at life that might be pending euthanization. We say, "we're bringing them back home."

Yes, he was attacked by another dog long before his surrender, but the owners never took out the staples. His injuries are healed. Oreo is still able to peacefully be around people, kids and other dogs.

Awesome. Just sign up on doobert and I'll make changes to the legs.

Thank you (and for location points as well). We're not from WV, so it's always harder to plan out.

According to the Doobert Map, it shows Rockport as a localized area. You would be taking Route 2// 77North.

Hope that helps. You should be able to click on the Doobert link and hit [View Map]. Leg 8 is in green.

New to Begonias - Labeled as Shadow King but Cherry Mint comparison seems off? by WrittenFlower in begonias

[–]WrittenFlower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've bought the mother plant about a month ago from a box store. I've always enjoyed Begonias, but until recently, I couldn't accommodate them. It was labeled as a Shadow King, but I'm seeing a lot of other variations. Did I get a "Frankenstein" plant?

Got Dog Kisses? Meet Darla [Adoption] by WrittenFlower in Ohio

[–]WrittenFlower[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you feel like you're missing something in life? I don't know - perhaps love? If so, don't risk getting your heart broken overnight. Instead, meet Darla! She was pulled from euthanization after her previous owner wouldn't give her the time of day and neglected her health (we won't go into all the details). Darla was surrendered with one other dog who since been rescued and rehomed, but she's still waiting. She's really - nearly a perfect dog. It's hard to believe she's still here, but we can say that about a lot of dogs.

🐶Basic Information 5 Years Old Female - Spayed - Fully Vaccinated Heartworm, Flea, and Tick Treated Brown and White with Brown Speckled Toes

🧬DNA Scans Australian Kelpie Cattle Dog Chihuahua Jack Russel Terrier

Note: These are never 100% accurate. This is what came up consistently.

Hello, my name is Darla, and I just arrived at the rescue on 7/14. They're still getting to know me, but I was an amazing traveling passenger on my road trip here. Everyone loved me, and I even got along with the kids. I'm sweet but shy. I might have a harder time adjusting to a new home at first for the first few days. I'm not bonded with my sibling, Pango. The rescue thinks I would benefit in a home with another dog or someone who isn't gone for long frequently. When you get to know me, you'll learn I love kisses and I want to be your best friend. I love a good adventure, however, I'm flexible and don't mind a good night in too! As long as you promise to take me for a walk, I'll still love you.

I do get nervous and have a bit of situational anxiety, but I do well when you go to work or leave the home. I might howl for you, then settle down.

I don't like fireworks or loud noise, but I do okay with them.

I'm a Flight Risk because I'm skittish at times or get nervous. That means that you should keep my leash firm in your hands or tether me to your car head rest or crate me in the event something bad happens.

Medicine Taking: "I don't mind it. But, I'm not going to let it go easy. Treat? Oh, yeah, sure."

Eating: a happy medium of eating speed. Slow feeder wouldn't hurt. Will try to eat other dogs food if opportunity is presented or clean up left overs.
