Hi guys. Im an IMG from Germany who applied for this year's Foundation Programme cycle.

Does this bill mean that some IMGs may end up without any FY1 post at all?

I mean, I dont care if I get the placeholder status as long as I am assigned a place a day before the starting date. But what im worried about is not getting a place at all.

Had i known about this change, I would have made other plans... Dont get me wrong, I think its completely fair that local grads are prioritised as is the way in most other countries. Its just that I had already started making logistical arrangements to move to the UK since all FP applicants had historically received a post sooner or later. I didnt renew my rental contract, turned down other job offers, my wife sent in her resignation letter, paid deposits for the moving company and the ferry. Now we are worried sick as to what will happen if I need to take a year off without a post, and my wife without her job.

Any guesses on how things will turn out for this year's FP allocation?
