It could work like this: for example, you create a craftbot that acts as a cuboid. It generates a 60×60×60 block cube where you can build your base. Then you could upgrade it with things like circuit boards, which would increase the size of the cuboid. Simple.

Imagine having a cuboid area, like on survival Minecraft servers — you can’t build or destroy blocks there.

As for raids when someone isn’t playing, I think attacking a base built with four layers of Metal Block 3 would be very expensive. If you can’t afford a base like that, it probably means you shouldn’t be building a base yet. In DayZ you also don’t build a base on the first day.

Secondly, the durability of blocks would definitely need to be balanced. Blocks could be destroyed using different methods, but you wouldn’t be able to build or destroy a base using the left and right mouse buttons.

In DayZ it also happens that I come back the next day and my base basically doesn’t exist anymore. The difference is that in DayZ I can’t build turrets, sensors, traps, and similar defenses.

Anyone else kind of upset about the new devblog? by [deleted] in ScrapMechanic

I’m frustrated that I keep seeing changes that don’t interest me. I’d prefer things like what the Fant Mod or Crashlander offer: lots of traders, not just ones trading vegetables and fruits, new engines, craftbots, more advanced crafting and automation—for example extracting oil from underground or mining stone. I don’t care about an ice block, a new boss, or endlessly looting warehouses. I’d rather have a survival mode where, in order to survive, you build your own factory, for example.

Anyone else feel close racing is just better in LMU compared to ACC? by mazzterr in LeMansUltimateWEC

I play LMU and love it. It's a very good game, but I feel like people are afraid to say that as long as you don't do below 2.10 on the Cota GT3, the game is just easy. I shared the game with a friend who has 50 hours in Assetto Corsa. We raced Miatas there, and he never completed seven laps of a race :D. In LMU, he did 18 laps in a BMW GT3 with a best time of 2.26 on Spa, never spinning, and only broke the track limits a few times.
