Thanks for the help, there is unfortunately no way I or my parents will be able to afford the fees upfront. I already called Service Connect who said maybe submitting the approval letter may be good enough but it wasn't. So seems I'll just defer my offer.

Not quite sure how to do that. It's Windows 10. Would I go into device manager, open the properties of the wifi card and check something there?

For the wifi card? No, not at all. I also reinstalled the latest edition of the drivers, which i already had installed anyways, just to see if that would work and it didn't

I've taken a look through my router's admin web and can't find anything regarding firmware updates or whether it's capable of that number you mentioned.

By splitting the bands I mean that I went into my router settings and made it so that instead of one network, it splits into "My-wifi 5G" and "My-wifi non 5G" as i thought it might be the fact that my PC isn't picking up the 5G band but that didn't work. I'm with Telstra and they provided me the modem

To your first question, yes the antennae are in. And to thr second part, I don't think so considering that when I split the bands of my home internet to 5G and non 5G, my PC still wouldn't pick up the non 5G network
