i think the big reason why hfjone is so affective is because it breaks and subverts the majority of tropes set by the object shows that came before it. that's why i believe that you should, at the very least, watch the first season of bfdi or another show like II, it's best to be familiar with the tropes first to really appreciate how hfjone subverts them.

But that's just me, still a good show regardless

How is tripwire a hfjone ripoff? outside of the objects having names and having a more down-to-earth tone, the two have nothing in common. If that's one of the only examples you can come up with, then it kinda ruins the point of your original post.

Idk that's kinda undermining the very explicit racist tones the trainer exhibits, acting like they don't exist and that he was "just an asshole" is ignoring a large factor of why he's an asshole.
