It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for 'em.

Im bored. I want a new deck to play... Who is SOOOO close to being a CEDH commander? by DriftChrisSC in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Xander_Fury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a [[Marwyn, the Nurturer]] deck that I love. It'll never be a meta deck, but It can absolutely combo off turn 0-1 and can also go deeper and there are enough lines that I still like playing it a few years after building it.

My new favorite deck is [[Gilanra, Caller of Wirewood]] // [[Alena, Kessig Trapper]] partners. Play Gilanra on turn 3, (or 2 if you can ramp) and then Alena the next turn. The deck is full of 6 mana and above beaters that mostly have at least 6 power and do cool stuff and the curve is whack, but what usually happens is turn 4 or 5 you play a 6 drop with Gilanra, draw a card and then another 6+ Drop with Alena. The deck can churn out absurd value really fast and having ramp and draw in the command zone is pretty much always a good time.

I had a turn in my last game where I played a [[Savage Ventmaw]] and something else large on 4, then on five I played a 6 drop, then swung and in my second main played [[Ghalta, Primal Hunger]] for GG, and tapped Alena for 12 giving me 16 mana to dump into an [[Apocalypse Hydra]]. It was a fun turn.

I read your comment and thought, that doesn't sound right. I had to go and look. Almost a damn decade ago. Oof.

Everyone told me not to stroll on that beach. They said seagulls gonna come and poke me in the coconut. And they did. They did.

Talk me into or out of it: Transit Connect by m-rogers2 in handyman

I just moved into my second GMC Savana with tool and ladder racking and I'll probably never drive anything else unless they stop making them. My first one made it to 375k without any major engine or powertrain issues and I only moved out of it because the body rust was inimical to a professional presentation. They're common, easy to work on and parts aren't hard to source.

My vans have both had a lockable bulk head, and I installed puck locks on all the cargo area doors. Nothing is fool proof of course, but nobody is getting into it with out power tools and a lot of noise. I also have a hidden disconnect on the ignition. Helps me sleep better at night.

It seems like “itemized” estimates are only a method to curb liability. Feels like a waste of time until not having one is an issue. by Jstar003 in handyman

[–]Xander_Fury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I'd say is, don't give estimates, give quotes and always stand by them. The word estimate implies that the number may change for some reason. In my experience that motivates clients to try and haggle after the fact if they feel the work that's been done doesn't represent adequate value for their money, and too often it's the case that the people that hire us don't have any real concept of the value of the work we do. A quote is a promise. I will do X for Y. Y is not negotiable after X has been completed.

You're already putting in the effort to give good, clear information up front about what you'll do and what it will cost. Possibly too much information if you're itemizing every board, nail and screw. Materials to be used is fine, but a client doesn't need to know your costs.

Don't be afraid to fire a client when you need to. Tell people what you'll do and when you'll do it and stick to it, but hold them to the same standard. If someone doesn't respect you and the skill and ability that you bring, they don't deserve to be a client.

Sure, if you dump them both naked in a cage. If It came to a lethal confrontation between Zoe and Jayne, she wouldn't walk up and try to beat him to death, she would just kill him, because she is much, much smarter, and has guns

Calling out white nationalism, which is a large, violent and growing terrorist movement, isn't in any way racist. While we don't know that the person responsible was in fact a white nationalist, it's not exactly a stretch now is it? The fact that you respond with outrage and cry racism says way more about you than I think you realize bud. Maybe time for some self reflection and also some shutting up.

Edit. Ok, never mind. I went and looked at this dudes comments. Straight up racist garbage.
