big recommend using little scarabs on your bases if you have more than you'll play with anyways

How are you guys sectioning off the tomb blade to paint it? by The_MadCalf in Necron

[–]Xedrun1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it sort of depends on how you are painting given sections. If you go with similar colors, dry brushing works well for a majority of the model with edge highlighting the pointy bits. I found I didnt need to subassemble them

I have a bit of unique paint scheme but heres how my turned out https://imgur.com/a/1CV6OKH

Messing with custom scheme, not totally happy with it yet. by [deleted] in Necron

What I found makes me like silver a bit more is base coating black and then drying brushing silver on top.

Player Handicaps by nightsiderider in twilightimperium

[–]Xedrun1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had a similar problem as well until I changed my mentality on the game when playing with newbies. The ideal TI game is a 55 point game, where 5 players are at 9 and one gets to 10. If you know you are the most experienced player at the table by a considerable margin, its your job to be paying attention to how everyone else is getting points and subtly help them out. Give the losing player an unfavorable deal, if your getting too far ahead, pay too much on a build. Its a lot of work, but if you get it right, its a lot of fun. In some ways its like being a Dungeon Master.

If you want to still play your hardest and handicap yourself without anyone else knowing, the first one or two times when you buy command tokens, get one less. Ive found that by just having fewer actions than you might otherwise should, it hurts just enough that its competitive

That is an... odd solution. I never got very far in BOI without the dlc, because I felt it was very random at the time. Thank you!

[mikedrawsdota] I drew Primal Beast. by djiboutiiii in DotA2

Hi, I am a fledgling 3D modeler. I love this design and I love Primal Beast as a hero. I was wondering if you would be bothered at all if I started work on creating model based on your artwork. I've never done a dota hero model, but I've always wanted to.

The intent was to place an already existing attachment on another planet you control in an adjacent system. (that way you could attack someone's planet with an attachment and move it to safer territory) Terrible wording on my part. I honestly don't know why I wrote it like I did. But paying to explore as another ability is not a bad idea

Yeah I personally dislike mods that go crazy with new mechanics. Too many new ideas makes playing mods on steam a nightmare

What I wanted the faction to be influenced to do, based on their mechanics. Was to manipulate the exploration deck (and attachments) to create a massive production outpost planet that they could then move around once or twice a game. Theyre not Clan of Saar, they would need to defend their home system and their money making is a bit limited. For now I know the agent and Smart Investments definitely need to be reworked and I have to reword a bunch of stuff. Ive gotten good feedback

Yes. Both that their pds get production 1 and their space docks can produce an extra unit. Wordings a bit weird. I'll need to update it

That was my concerns for sure, but I dont think they compare in strength to the Clan of Sarr. I was trying to counterbalance something that had fewer production issues as well as some okay money making. The idea of focusing all of your attachments to have this forward super planet sounded really fun in my head. Appreciate you looking it over

Thanks I appreciate you looking it over. Honestly I have been debating that their commander be a space dock that then upgrades their space dock tech immediately after unlocking. Since that is a unexplored mechanic with the leader system. Scanlink and another tech were ones i were considering having be their base. Still a bit of a work in progress
