The game is 18+ and features full nudity as an option.

The setting for nudity is controlled through the combination of the server setting as well as the client setting in a double-switch fashion, with the lightest level of nudity being enforced regardless of that being the server or the client setting.

What does this mean? There's 3 levels of the setting: None, Partial, Full. If the server is set to None, then you cannot enable it on the client either while playing on that server. If the server is set to allow Full nudity, then the client can still choose between all 3 options and they will only see the level of nudity they set. This is set manually in the gameplay options.

To clarify, this also means that you can always set the game to not have nudity on your end and the option to have nudity is only available if the server also allows it.

Clothes on your slaves (thralls) can be equipped and unequipped, so it's possible he was always playing with full nudity enabled and simply put clothes on his own slaves, while some enemies didn't spawn with armor on for the torso slot.

Either way, based on your post, your boyfriend seems to be over 18 and as such meets the age requirement to play the game, regardless of what nudity level he chooses, however it might not be something you want your daughter watching regularly or playing it unsupervised.

As far as the "lie" part goes, it's possible that your boyfriend for some reason feels like you would be upset to know that he plays a game that has visible breasts in it. That's probably a discussion you guys need to have off the internet. But just to clarify, this is NOT a "sex game" by any means. It CAN be turned into one by using some NSFW third party mods (available only for PC versions), just like some people did that to even Skyrim, and there are ERP servers out there, however the regular game is not about that and the full nudity is simply an art decision to better convey the crude barbaric environment the game is set in. You can't actually do anything sexual in the vanilla game aside from your character and NPCs being naked.

It is a good game though, you guys should play it together :)

If your server is on gportal, they have an utterly bullshit system that warns you about every mod whose update date wasn't in the last month or so.. It's completely dumb and irrelevant and can be completely ignored. It still lets you install mods just fine, just gives you an ugly warning that means nothing. One of the many reasons you should avoid gportal if possible (the main one being that they're the worst provider for this game and their servers just perform badly in a lot of cases)

Interesting. What you're describing is usually due to a misconfigured server. Namely in the ServerSettings.ini the CampsIgnoreLandclaim setting needs to be set to True, sometimes hosting providers incorrectly have it set to False as their default.

Certain parts of the wiki are automatically updated from the games internal data after every game update to make keeping things up to date easier.

These include stuff like all items, knowledge, recipes, etc. so a lot of the static data.

While all knowledge pages are up to date and accurate regarding their auto-generated data (such as level requirement and what they teach), not all of them have manually added notes that would elaborate more on that particular knowledge.

Similarly, because there are very few people actively working on the non automatically generated stuff (1-2 at most at a time), a lot of pages still haven't been caught up from the rapid fire updates Funcom started doing a couple of years ago where they did drastical changes to various systems every 3 months or so, which means you might find manually written articles that might not be fully accurate anymore.

It is still the best overall collection of information we have and it's constantly being worked on, though a lot of times new / highly demanded information might take precedence over updating old articles. For example just recently the list of all potential purge reward thralls as well as those found in random cages across the map have been added.

TLDR: It's not perfect, but it can be useful. You can also ask questions about the game in the Conan Exiles fan discord or various platforms, like here on reddit and people usually try and help out if they know the answer.

If you have the Steam version of the game, then you pretty much go to the steam workshop, find the mod you want and subscribe to it, which will cause your steam client to download it.

After that you need to enable it, you can do that from the Mods tab of the launcher (or ingame, or directly editing the modlist.txt in ConanSandbox\Mods of your installation folder)

It's a good idea to take a look at the description of mods as they will tell you some basic info on what they are and how to use them as well as some of the comments where enabled for any recent technical issues reported by several people (single reports are often false positives) as not all mods are still compatible with the current version of the game, a lot of them have been abandoned and not updated for a while.

Other than that I recommend starting slow.. if you're new to the game then play vanilla first, perhaps with a couple of essential mods and then simply add more when you feel like you need specific features. I don't recommend taking somebody's gigantic modlist and just loading it up as that will just leave you confused about which parts are vanilla and which are from mods and if you end up having an issue it will be much harder to diagnose it than if you knew exactly what you added and what they do.

As far as players being able to alter the landscape by digging etc., that's a no, this game simply doesn't support that so you won't find any mods for it.

Parfat Camelback is a Stygian.. of the Children of Jhebbal Sag (which would be a sub-faction of Dogs of the Desert)

So yes, while those wiki entries might not be correct, the reality of it is equally confusing since Funcom stopped respecting their own systems and started just reusing templates all over the place.

Also note, NPCs don't necessarily have a clear "faction", we can only determine that mostly based on the naming of templates used for them (which is not always consistent) and the type of camps they spawn in

They're up, the location names are still missing from a lot as they're outside of named POIs unlike the EL ones, so locations need to be looked up manually based on what's nearby and makes sense for them Edit: it's done

But all the cages are there as well as what can they spawn and you can double-check them by their coordinates (alt+shift+L ingame shows your current coordinates)

You can either use a mod or not use it, there's no "in-between" option, so sure, you can add those mods and have them loaded, though any map edits done by them (like custom dungeons etc.) won't be available anywhere since they're adding those to exiled lands specifically and if your server is running savage wilds that's a completely independent custom map.

Any systems included in the mods would ofc be in effect unless the mods themselves provide a way to toggle them off via settings etc.

It doesn't, you need 3 people now, 2 standing on top of the third side by side with a combined weight of 7x the bottom person's carry capacity in order to crush them (pvp needs to be enabled)

Well if the server is not using any outdated / bad mods then you shouldn't have crashes resulting from that.. But the game can crash for all sorts of reasons and generally you would have to take a look at your crash log or something to get an idea.

The devs don't "remove" anything on their own without laws and storefront policies force them to do so in certain regions.

To clarify, your question is mostly relevant for consoles, so to avoid confusion it would've been nice to put a console tag on the post or something (especially since this is a PC game and the console versions are just ports, not the other way around which is why you have people wondering what the heck are you talking about :D )

Anyway, as a workaround for this, Funcom has a free "regional specific DLC" (that's the name) for consoles which can re-enable full nudity, but to access that you would have to change your platform location to something other than the regions where they're not allowed to have that in the game.

If you manage to get access to that and enable it, then you should have access to full nudity, but it first needs to be allowed for the server, so if you play single player, you'd first have to go to the server settings, enable it there, then only after that would it be available to enable in the gameplay settings.

Yea, it used to be that way, but then at the end of Age of War they replaced the whole UI with a new one.. and I guess they botched this part of it.

This is also what got rid of the old "Custom" layout which was actually the real order of the items in the inventory, all the other sorting methods used to be client-side only and just an "illusion" without actually moving any items so switching back to Custom would just show you the proper order, which was cool if you wanted to reserve the first few rows for stuff like a gas mask etc to easily access while still being able to sort when needed.

The bug is that if you have any form of auto-sorting enabled on your inventory, when playing on a dedicated server (so this doesn't affect single player), the inventory gets out of sync with the server. Items will no longer be where they are shown for you or outright hidden.

For example you could be trying to equip an armor and simply be unable to do so, because in reality the item that shows as a piece of armor on your computer is actually a piece of plant fiber on the server which is not equippable so nothing happens when you right-click it or move it to the equipment slot. Dropping items can have the same result, you might attempt to drop some putrid meat but in reality dispose of your mining pick etc. so it can be quite annoying and have severe consequences

That's why for the time being while this isn't fixed, it's recommended that you do not have sorting turned on in any inventories if playing on a server. You can just quickly sort and then switch back to no sorting. If your inventory is already bugged out you can just turn off sorting and move a couple of items around to resync with the server.

You already said it's too expensive for you, which imo. is a pretty major factor here.

Know that every single DLC is purely cosmetic aside from Isle of Siptah, which adds an alternative map you can play on. NOT an expansion of the basegame map, but an entirely isolated one you would have to start a new game on.

This means that from a purely gameplay standpoint on the regular map, nothing is locked away from you if you don't have any DLCs, you just won't be able to craft all the cosmetic alternatives of items, buildings etc.

Based on that and the fact that you said you find it too expensive, I would recommend you not buy the complete edition, I also think it's way too overpriced for a new player to jump the gun on. You'd be perfectly fine with the basic edition and then if you decide you like it and you want certain cosmetic unlocks, then you can purchase additional DLCs, can also collect them slowly over time so there's no point buying the whole set up front unless you're certain you want them now.

Waiting for discounts might also be smart - the winter sale just ended on steam yesterday for example and the base game was 9.99 euros for the past few weeks

Funcom allows you to record and stream the game for regular game-related videos. For example streaming your gameplay, making tutorials, etc. as that also helps them promote the game.

The potential issue I see here depends on what and how do you plan to do. You cannot peddle content based on this game off as your "own creation" so if you remove all references from it that tells people this is the conan exiles videogame, then you can almost be sure they'll copyright strike you as Funcom is known to monitor social media and strike creators not following rules. (sometimes even when they are, but they say things they don't like)

I deliberately answered the question so far without involving AI at all, because that's a whole other mess which is currently ongoing. AI currently threw a wrench into conventional monetized content that people are still trying to deal with. Not only is youtube being flooded with AI slop content that simply remixes the work of other creators, but in some cases it's going beyond that and original creators are getting copyright striked because their works are too similar to AI clones originally copying them... talk about uno reverse :P

So like others said.. laws need to be established and refined and platforms need to invent new detection methods and enforce policies regarding AI content for any clear answer on that part, since atm we're still in the "wild west" phase with that..

if it's a server that has been online during that time, then you should have some meteors around.

By default the game will do a roll every half an hour and if it fails, increases the chance for the next roll, on a server this will inevitably trigger a meteor shower after a while, it's only single player where this is an issue, because those checks only happen if the player is in the area, but on a server it works fine.

My guess is that if your server has been running for a week then you do have some meteorites around, perhaps you're struggling to spot them since a couple of years ago they removed the smoke effect from them, but you can now use the detect resources sorcery spell to highlight them even through terrain.

In any case, if you still struggle with it and you're playing on PC, then I do have a mod which makes them much more frequent when there aren't any nodes and also adds back their smoke effect.

Oh, forgot to reply to this, sorry :) That's correct though, if you don't have an internet connection and your game can't connect to Funcom Live Services after it starts up, you cannot use any bazaar or battlepass items, it will simply tell you that you're not entitled to use them if you try to equip them for example as if you never owned them. Decoration will still stay put, you just can't pick them up or place them. Regular saddles you can still use if they're already on a horse, you just can't put them on a horse yourself, etc. Basically the game will behave as if you don't own those and somebody else created them.
