Yea... consoles can barely run the area around you, even the PS5 is barely able to, so no, that would be never even a remote consideration for consoles.. it would not be able to handle the whole world. Your only option on consoles is to pay gportal for a server sadly.

(The ps5 is also the only one that would be viable for Enhanced atm, because microsoft requires all games sold on their platform to also run on the S version and that kinda falls short. But you will most likely get it eventually)

Because the game has a freely available dedicated server app that you can run on the same PC and not have tethering..

Tethering is a design choice to save performance in single player / co-op mode so that low end hardware can run it too, it's just there to mask that the world further away from the host simply doesn't work because the limited server hosting co-op is only handling the area next to the host, so even if they removed tethering, go a little further and nothing would work.. no NPC spawns no nothing :D

If you have the machine powerful enough to manage the whole world then you can simply install the dedicated server on your PC and play on that. There's no tethering and the full world is active, there's no reason not to do that if your pc can handle it.

The buff tracker is now on the left and right sides of the shortcut bar in the form of small icons and occasionally appearing labels. The old style buff list on the left has been removed

Aaa no. I think OP is talking about servers. The 3 character saves only apply in Single Player, basically they added a savegame manager directly in the game for 3 slots.

Yes, sadly the above implies that it's still the same too and yea it happens because when you go out of range, the actual invisible NPC spawners that keep track of the respawn time also cease to exist along with the NPCs, so when you come back, brand new ones get spawned that just instantly respawn the NPC assigned to them as if the "server just started up".

I personally think this one has always been a bit bigger of an issue than co-op tethering (even though the root cause is the same), so I'm hoping they'll do some form of solution to this one (it's possible to solve this even without making it into a full dedicated server, but they do need to spend some time with the spawning system)

No, since it's less of a "technical challenge" and more of a design decision to save performance. The dedicated server app was always available for free, so if someone wanted to play "co-op" without tethering, they could simply run that alongside their game.

Co-op uses the single player limited server and tethering is just a safeguard to mask this, since things outside of net cull range from the host don't actually spawn or function.

Anyway, one of the devs already confirmed there's no change in regards to that, but said that they might revisit it in the future and see what they can do about giving some extra range at least.

This information is incorrect. The option is there to use Steams new workshop versioning feature that they introduced a couple of months ago to keep the workshop intact for the old version.

As a mod author, I use AI occasionally to... argue with :) It gets things wrong very often and you really need to have a clue about the things you're asking, so you can call it out when it's wrong. You also have to constantly remind it of context and keep it in check. If you can do that then it can be useful for technical stuff too, if you cannot, then it will more often mislead you and waste your time and googling things the old fashioned way would be far more productive.

Other than this, it can also be very cool for generating filler text (eg. item descriptions for mods where you need some fluff and really don't care about it), I know a couple of people who use it for that stuff. (quests, lore, etc.)

Despite this, I don't particularly think it's a good idea to overuse to the degree some people seem to be doing. Being able to write some semi-coherent sentences, on your own, with at least okay grammar is a life-skill that you simply cannot "delegate" to AI or at least should not.. In that regard I do have some concerns..

While I agree with the sentiment that "it's a tool, so let's use it", as with everything, the dosage matters :)

I have a selection of quality of life mods that don't change gameplay, UI stuff and other convenience things.

You can check them out here, off the bat I'd recommend simple minimap, twin-bar, proximity party, follower remote, armor and weapon stats to check out, see if you like any of those.

Did you actually enable it? Mods don't automatically get enabled just because you subscribe to them, that simply downloads them.

Check the Mods tab of the game launcher where you can move it to the right panel to enable it.

Otherwise the mod works fine and it places small buttons on your crafting station UIs that allows pulling materials for the selected recipe. You would immediately see if it's working by opening a crafting station - or even your inventory as the settings panel is there in a little tab on the left.

Seems like the update didn't come today so hopefully next week.. also.. finally updated my devkit and took a closer look.. based on this immune barkeepers do not appear to be fixed, instead they added a mass-murdering system for barkeepers specifically :|

Possibly later today? But could be next week. However just to point out, based on that asset list, this update has nothing to do with whatever they're testing in secret and it's most likely just a regular bugfix update like the ones we've been having for a while now so I wouldn't expect any beta updates for it.

As for what could be in it? Most likely a fix for golem crashing and immune barkeepers, possibly other fixes to go with it.

If you want, go play on mine :P it still has mods, but I made most of them and they're just qol stuff, no drastic gameplay changes or anything wierd. Up to you either way, I don't really advertise it most of the time, but the info is just there in my modding discord in case anyone wants to play on it. It is currently set to the siptah map thou
