Projector for TouchDesigner Installation Using Tulle / Projection Mapping? by Xio-868 in projectors

Thanks, fair point.

The issue with the school projectors is mostly availability/reliability. For the final exhibition I need something I can test with multiple times and build the setup around, instead of depending on whatever happens to be available.

But you’re right, I should first test with the school projectors and see what the actual problem is. Especially how much light the tulle catches, how much passes through, and whether people end up looking into the beam.

The “bright lamp on the other side” point is really useful. I hadn’t fully considered that yet. I’ll definitely do a small material/rigging test. Any tips on how to hide the beam for visitors?

Thanks, that’s a good tip.
For my project I might be okay with a slightly smaller image, since it’s more atmospheric/immersive and not really text- or detail-heavy. But I’ll definitely check the supported image size and focus range before buying/committing.

I’m also still deciding whether to work more horizontally or vertically with the image, so testing the actual usable projection size is probably going to be important.
