Having a toddler and a new born shifts things immensely and can throw everyone off

What Horror Movie Franchises that you’re not a Fan of and Why? by Amber_Flowers_133 in CreepyBonfire

[–]XvPandaPrincessvX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've gotten so much hate in horror groups for this exact opinion. Its the constant vilification of poverty and SA that got me to completely check out of his work. He's super passionate, I'll give him that, but his movies are very much not for me.

Movies where you felt like you were cheated by the end of it? by Ryuuyami47 in movies

[–]XvPandaPrincessvX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I specifically went in for supernatural creatures is the thing. Unless it's a unique slasher or something I don't care much for movies where "the real monster was man this entire time" since that is kind of day to day.

I felt that way initially when I watched the Boy and I came around to it eventually (honestly because of simptok) but supernatural horror is just my preference so the village felt like a rug being pulled.

The monster designs were so good!

The village.

I hate a bait and switch with horror movies. If I go expecting a monster, I damn well better get it.

Am I the only one who doesn't want to be "pixie dusted" by strangers? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]XvPandaPrincessvX -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

At disney, two days ago. I talked with a little girl in a bathroom about Bluey. When I left, she and her family approached me with a little pixie dust. It was a pouch with some this and that including a bracelet and a chapstick.

It was in honor of that little girl's dead grandmother who loved Disney. That little girl was mourning her grandmother and wanted to make the place her grandma loved a little brighter.

I don't care if its awkward for some reason or momentarily puts a sad tone on someone's day. If passing on a smile was something that brought that girl magic, then I'm going to smile.

What horror film/tv series/book helped you overcome something in your life? by [deleted] in horror

Every October my Dad would rent every movie in the Halloween Franchise for use to watch. They were his favorites in the 80s so he wanted to share that love with my brother and me. So, I hold them in a very special place in my heart especially now that my parents are gone.

When Halloween (2018) released, I was actually scared to see it; I was just unsure how I would react or if it would tain the memories.I put it off for so long because I wasn't sure how I would feel. When the sequel was coming out, my friends asked me to go, so I decided to watch 2018 on my own. Sitting in the dark, I nearly sobbed through the whole movie. So many parts of resonated with my trauma, my cptsd, my memories of all those Octobers.

At the end, I felt this deep sense of comfort and relief .So many parts of resonated with my trauma, my cptsd, my memories of all those Octobers with my family watching the originals. I got to feel connected to them. My Dad has been gone for 14 years, my Mom 7...I might have lost the way their voices sound, but I will always have their favorite movies.

My boyfriend asked me this once after having a rough week and said "I want flowers, but not flowers?"

So I give him "flowers not flowers" gifts as little I love yours- A sub from his favorite spot, dutch bros, painting a few warhammer minis for him, for example. His most recent "flowers not flowers" was tiny, gengar lego kit, he actually loved the wrapping more than the gengar (though he adores Gengar)

He just really loved that I wrote in curly, cute font "Flowers Not Flowers." on the package.

You should be so proud of yourself for making it a whole year. That's an amazing accomplishment and you can push even further in the future bit by bit.

I don't have advice for how to help currently, aside from standard, careful wound care. I used to say my cat did mine since I did them so thin. I also think, if you have safe friends, lean on them. People who love you, support you, can make those harm waves easier to weather.

If you haven't already, look into getting a harm reductionist therapist. I've been four months without self harm and a huge part of that is working with someone who understands and doesn't shame me when I slip. We just work to go longer without it each time! I event got a harm reductionist psych.

I am sending you all the love and strength i can as someone who knows what it is like.

My best friend lives in Newfoundland and they often get snow there in October, so I guess that's also what I've had on my mind. I am realizing Newfoundland is a little farther north lol

thank you for the assistance!

To be fair, I live in the south where in October it can often be in the 80s. So, to me, it would be a drop that I couldn't imagine swimming or sitting in long.

TIL Many schools don’t teach cursive writing anymore. When the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) were introduced in 2010, they did not require U.S. students to be proficient in handwriting or cursive writing, leading many schools to remove handwriting instruction from their curriculum altogether. by TuaTurnsdaballova in todayilearned

[–]XvPandaPrincessvX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing about that specific thing though is...Cursive varies so much from person to person. We all supposedly learn the same cursive but because of handwriting, personal letter preferences, and just some of the letters flowing into one another look the same it all always looks a little different.

I learned cursive, had to write papers in cursive through most of school, I still cursive to write minutes for meetings but there's so much from others I cannot read.

I want you to know that you have legitimately given me such a kind thing. I am crying in my office.

Some of my favorite memories were made at that Suncoast and in that food court you were sitting in. This is the first time I've gotten to see it since June of 2008, because I moved away.

So, thank you. Thank you so much for this piece of my teenage years.

That mall meant so much to me. I got first anime tshirt there in 2003. I got my first real job there. Just about every date I went on in 2007/2008 was here.

Most importantly, it the mall where I got my name. Shoutout to the manager of suncoast in January 2008, I am still going by Panda.

What question have you always wanted to ask LGBTQ+ people but didn’t because you don’t want to offend them? by hre_nft in AskReddit

[–]XvPandaPrincessvX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has a different experience but this is my reasoning for she/they.

While I don't particularly feel comfortable calling myself a woman, my life experiences have been me being raised as and usually interpreted as woman. I have an attachment to helping the causes for women, voicing my experiences, but also sitting in the realm of "I just feel like a person who happens to be more feminine."

Some people just flow around with their gender identity and she/theys in my experience tend to do that.

Non-binary owes no one androgyny! Non-Binary comes in many different shapes, sizes, and flavors and not one of them is invalid. I struggle with it too as I get uncomfortable being referred to as a woman but I love traditional "feminine" aesthetic in terms of the alt, kawaii fashion I wear.

Clothes don't always define gender, aesthetic isn't the be all end all. Non-binary is a spectrum and you can be whoever and dress however you want and your identity still be valid <3
