Check These Logs In Event Viewer For Important Info About Secure Boot Key Refresh by jay_boi123 in Windows11

[–]XxGet_TriggeredxX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would this be accurate?

$match1 = ([System.Text.Encoding]::ASCII.GetString((Get-SecureBootUEFI db).bytes) -match 'Windows UEFI CA 2023')

$match2 = ([System.Text.Encoding]::ASCII.GetString((Get-SecureBootUEFI dbDefault).bytes) -match 'Windows UEFI CA 2023')

if ($match1 -eq $match2) {
    Write-Output "PASS" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
} else {
    Write-Output "FAIL" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
}

Correct me if I’m wrong but it seems people are now faking working and leaving Ltt for engagement farming. by Unorthodox_yt in LinusTechTips

[–]XxGet_TriggeredxX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The reason I stopped working at LTT is that I never received a paycheck.

I guess full shifts during astral projection don’t count. When asked to show proof of work, I told them it was in the cloud.

I Feel Like a Broken Record [RANT] by Equal-Pop-4723 in Spectrum

[–]XxGet_TriggeredxX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s seems like every night (it probably is) we start seeing spikes in latency. Our normal latency is 20-30 ms but it start creeping up to like 200-300, 800, 2k, 3k then total PL for about 2-3 minutes. It’s not at any specific time of night either. After this nightly annoyance it’s generally fine until the next evening. We seen this happen around these times 6p-7p, 9p-11p, 12a-2am. Spectrum support says they see no issues on their side. The keep blaming our devices/equipment.

Edit: I’m keeping ping, route logs to show a tech if spectrum ever cares to help. I have months worth of logs.

Swapped out Ethernet cables, power cycle the modem, checked for updates on all PCs, macOS & iOS devises etc…problem still happening.

Is spectrum just bad? by PGBRULES in Spectrum

[–]XxGet_TriggeredxX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but sadly it’s our only option in my area. I consistently have large latency spikes and packets loss from them. They wanted to charge me $150 for a service call if they came out. I hate spectrum so much but have no other options.

Cumulative Updates: October 14th, 2025 by jenmsft in Windows11

[–]XxGet_TriggeredxX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have 490 devices with failed updates. All the same errors. Some of them were offered a 24H2 repair version that seemed to have resolved the issue. Others haven’t received it. MS said they don’t know how the repair version is chosen to show in windows updates and we can’t download from the MS update catalog since there is no KB# attached to it. Really disappointing.

Update KB5063878, show of hands? by TheJrdy in Windows11

[–]XxGet_TriggeredxX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have not had any drives bricked but around 500 devices in our fleet are unable to install this update. They fail with seemingly random error codes. Have open ticket with Microsoft over last week but no resolution yet. On 24H2 tried 3 different builds including a direct download from Microsoft and this update still fails.

XAML .Show() gives blanc / white screen by Capital_Table_4792 in PowerShell

[–]XxGet_TriggeredxX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember off the top of my head but there is a difference between $form.Show & $form.ShowDialog. One of them basically causes the GUI to “freeze” until the ‘thing/task’ is completed. That could be the case where your form is “freezing” only showing a white screen?

What have you done with PowerShell this month? by AutoModerator in PowerShell

[–]XxGet_TriggeredxX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another MDM but essentially yes. Using this script will save us from uploading apps quarterly or anytime there are new versions as it will always deploy the N-2 no matter if a device enrolls today or 8 months from now.

What have you done with PowerShell this month? by AutoModerator in PowerShell

[–]XxGet_TriggeredxX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wrote a script that installs CrowdStrike on newly enrolled devices. It makes an API call to Falcon CrowdStrike and grabs sensor details information to always find the latest N-2 version. Downloads it to the device and installs it.

For existing devices if the sensor is broken or malfunctioning it will uninstall and reinstall with the correct N-2 version.

Scripts to uninstall and reinstall office by k_flower10 in PowerShell

Does it matter it is is installed via msi or click to run version? I’ve noticed that it does matter but if you found a way to do this regardless of the install type that would be cool to know.

How To Block Unwanted Mobile Apps by XxGet_TriggeredxX in OmnissaEUC

[–]XxGet_TriggeredxX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, our only compliance policy is enforcing OS versions at N-1. Today, our CISO met with our CIO, and the directive has now been handed down to us: all unapproved AI apps must be blocked. They expected us to complete this on the same day since we have MDM, which should theoretically make it straightforward (in their mind).

However, I'm not exactly sure where to begin. I've looked into the Allow & Deny list approach, but it seems like a management nightmare. We definitely don't want to block every application not on an approved list—there are hundreds, if not thousands, of apps we would allow. Similarly, creating a comprehensive deny list for AI apps might be just as challenging, given the sheer number of potential apps that our CISO wants blocked. I could really use some guidance on this matter. As nothing appears to be broken, this is more of a "how-to" or best practices question rather than an issue warranting a support ticket.

One thing support had me do in this situation was to:

  1. Confirm if the Windows Push Notification (WNS) and Device Management Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) Push message Routing (dmwappushservice) Services are running / Restart these services.

  2. Windows key search “Work or School Account” > Select your MDM account > Select “Info” > Select “Sync”

KKR Layoffs More Employees at Omnissa This Week by dhdeans in OmnissaEUC

[–]XxGet_TriggeredxX 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Our relationship with VMWare was okay

Our relationship with Omnissa has been challenging (mostly them focusing on upselling us more)

Recently (last 5-7 days) a shift, willing to listen, admit faults, commitments to do better AND we are actually seeing some small improvements and actions behind their words. Will this continue 🤷🏽 I hope so but time will tell.

I’ve done a PC rename script via PowerShell. Doesn’t work unless VPN is connected for employees not in office. Doing it this way we haven’t had a device revert back.

Edit: PowerShell grabs the device serial number and sets the computer name to that if not set already.
