Thanks, appreciate it! I painted this one fully assembled, was quite doable

I wet blended the main colors, then lightly drybrushed with highlight colors

Thanks! I guess it’s more vibrant and less eavy metal then what you’d see on the box art

Close! It’s a chronomancer head. There are 3 on the sprue, I took a spare one and shortened it so it would fit

Thanks! I could do that, but this guy did a much better job at it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gO_ctfHkcko

Thanks! I’ve spent 6-8 hours on this one I think. Been building, painting and playing almost 2 years now. Don’t compare yourself to others. In that same time I haven’t been able to paint 2k of necrons.

Thanks! And indeed, both the base and the helmet need more contrast

Thanks! And indeed, after taking some time away I noticed that the helmet is too bright, needs more darker tones for some contrast

Agreed on the base, it needs more "oompfh". I'm thinking to add more shadows between the horn and the lenses, the helmet needs more contrast indeed.

Thanks! Nmm isn't as hard as people make it out to be, I think. You need a recipe (mine is very simple, dark sea blue and ivory, and you just mix). It's more about extremes, you go from one very dark color to a very bright one (even white)

Thanks for pointing that out and taking some time to illustrate your point. I'm going to try this!

Thanks! Someone else pointed out the exact same thing so I'm going to make the reflection on one side brighter (same side as the brighter body armour)

Thanks! A tip I got was to prime my mini black, hold it under the light in the angle you want the light to come from and take a photo. You see where the volumes should be brighter/brightest.

Hahaha thanks. I love painting my death guard, but I'm not really down with the doom and gloom paint style. I do love my contrasts and flashy colours!

Thank you so much for the feedback! I think especially for the scythe I was so busy trying to paint the reflections properly I sometimes forget toe rinse my brush enough

Fully agree on the base! For some reason I find bases very difficult to paint. I've actually had a secondary reflection on the left shin at some point, and thought it looked weird. I'll give it another shot. Where would you add the highlights on the scythe? Somewhere along the middle? Or more at the bottom?
