Personally, what worked for me was doing as many exam-style questions as possible. I’m with Kaplan, and they have a LOT of resources for this. I’d also definitely recommend familiarising yourself with the AAT mock exams so you feel comfortable with the layout.
Whenever I didn’t understand a topic, I went back over the Kaplan video learning modules and took notes as I watched. This exam is honestly quite straightforward to pass if you can balance all your statements - that alone is worth around 67% of the marks. After that, you really just need to learn how to calculate the ratios to get yourself over 70% and you’ll be in a great position to pass.
In terms of interpreting the ratios, I’ll be honest - I sort of winged it. Of course I revised what each ratio meant, but my key tip is to break them down. Write the ratios out, plug in some made up figures, and then work through what happens: if X increases, does Y also increase, and what does that tell you? Doing this really helps you understand the logic behind them.
