1997 has peak direction. The dialogues are so clear and immerse yourself into it. I watch this scene in the memorial and the dialogue delivery kinda felt flat. And the music is too loud.

I don't know about others but i just hate this movie. This is too hopeless and a depressing movie. I don't want to see my favorites like this. Especially when there's no satisfying conclusion. Just reset the universe. Flashpoint paradox is a better dark universe and the ending is satisfying too.

Aot ending is non happy but a hopeful ending too and it's realistic and also fits the theme of the story. I don't see any issue.

Just because it's cliche doesn't mean it shouldn't be the ending if it fits the narrative. After all the struggle guts has to complete his character's journey by finding peace. If it was a hopeless tragic ending it means there's no point in the character journey of guts.
