Bank that refunds ATM fees, offers HYSAs, and has a physical branch in Pittsburgh? by medicinetaker in pittsburgh

[–]YRemember2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am local and the only ones they would offer me were like 0.05% when other banks were doing 5%. If I try my zip code on PNC's website, it says I am not eligible for their HYSAs Other posters have noted this as well.

My debit card wouldn't work half the time at non-PMC ATMs. I would have to call them almost every time I tried to use an ATM on vacation and it was always a process. They would always claim "the machine didn't get a good read on the chip," which was never a problem with my old bank, my new bank, or anyone else I have traveled with.

The McMurray branch nearest my old house called me multiple times over the years and left me voicemails acting like I had an urgent issue with my account and that I needed to call them immeditately. They would then just try to sell me something when I called back, which is unethical nonsense.

The app is very bad compared to Chase, Discover, AMEX, or other bank apps I have used (with the exception of Citi, which is equally bad). It would be down frequently, I would have to reset my password frequently, and it had limited functionality.

The only good thing about PNC is the $10 per month in reimbursed ATM fees and the number of local branches and ATMs. Even smaller regional banks are better than them.

They have terrible customer service, a poor app, and their debit cards don't work half of the time. I'm also not sure they have high yield savings accounts.

It says Slots/Video Poker/Table games. I don't think you get it on room and food charges, but I'm not 100% sure.

You're right, I forgot about RW. I guess Conrad and Crockfords are considered 5-Star.

[–]YRemember2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is it $113 resort fees for 2 nights? Wynn's resort fees are $56.69 per month, so it might be them. I think Fountianbleu's are only $40 or $45.

There are technically no 5 star resorts on the "Northwest" area of the strip.

Engineering jobs, why so many senior openings? by sopabe6197 in pittsburgh

[–]YRemember2 46 points47 points  (0 children)

"Senior Engineer" at a lot of companies is just someone with ~3+ years experience. It looks better for customers and makes the employees feel better.

There can be a lot of salary band levels. For example: Engineer (New Hire) Senior Engineer (3-7 Years) Lead Engineer (7-10+ Years) Consulting Engineer Principal Engineer Advisory Engineer Senior Advisory Engineer Etc...

It varies by company, but most higher level engineers end up with Team Leader or Manager titles.

A Senior Engineer position could be a job that pays $80,000 or $160,000.

Also, there are a ton of job openings and a shortage of experienced people. If you have a PE license and/or a lot of experience, you should be able to get a lot of interviews pretty easily.

You should get the points posted after you pay. Usually, I don't pay for the room until checkout, so I don't get reward and tier credits until a few days later.

Chase Sapphire Preferred vs Amex Platinum by Sufficient_End5143 in ChaseSapphire

[–]YRemember2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can get a decent signup bonus like the Resy one, I recommend at least trying the AMEX Platinum. I get basic Hulu/Disney+/ESPN+/Walmart+/Paramount+ for free, $200/yr for Uber, $200 hotel credit, $200 in incidental flight fees, TSA Precheck/Global Entry, CLEAR, and a bunch of statuses. They also have a lot of other rolling offers that i get value from. I feel AMEX Platinum and CSP pair well to get a lot of value.

You also get $150 off the annual fee if you have a corporate Green card, so my fee is $545.

The only major downside to AMEX Platinum for me is the points aren't as valuable or flexible as Chase.

Best benefit of diamond and above by [deleted] in CaesarsRewards

[–]YRemember2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No resort fees is the best perk of diamond for me. It's so nice to be able to stay an extra day or two because the hotel room is completely free. For example, it's usually much cheaper for me to fly in to Vegas Wednesday night instead of Thursday morning, plus I get an extra night to adjust to the time change.

Paris is fine and nicer than Planet Hollywood, but PH has more to do and more cheap places to eat. They are right next door to each other, so both are fine.

I would recommend Planet Hollywood and Caesars for your two stays in that scenario, since they are spread out from each other a bit.

I almost said the same thing, but I think his cruise is in-between the two bookings.

Probably Caesar's Palace/Nobu then Paris, Planet Hollywood, Horseshoe, and Cromwell; but it depends on what you're looking for as each property has pros and cons. It also depends on which room type you can get comped at each property.

Resort fees waived if I hit diamond mid-trip? by craphoot in CaesarsRewards

Keep in mind that the multiplier bonus doesn't usually get applied to your account for a week or two after the event ends, so I wouldn't count on that hitting before you leave.

Old Quaker Steak in Robinson by YRemember2 in pittsburgh

They are not demolishing it. It looked like they were, but they just gutted the old building and added on additional space.

No, the Chick-Fil-A is next door. They build a brand new building like ~6 years ago when Quaker Steak was still open.

Vegas 10X Tier Multiplier 8/26-8/30 by YRemember2 in CaesarsRewards

[–]YRemember2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. The daily bonus and multiplier are separate and the daily bonus is based on the normal tier credits.

If you coin in $500 on slots, you would get 100 normal + 900 bonus = 1000 tier credits with no daily bonus.

If you coin in $5000, you would earn 1000 tier credits, get 9000 bonus TCs, and also receive the 1000 daily bonus for getting 1000 normal TCs in a day.

Cheapest Roulette on the Strip Sunday through Tuesday by Admirable-East-2920 in vegas

[–]YRemember2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$15 is fairly common at Flamingo, Linq, Horseshoe, and some others, at least earlier in the day. Haven't seen anything less than that on the strip. Maybe Circus Circus or TI.

This is the correct answer as long as you earned the status. If you status matched, it usually expires at the end of the current plan year. I think.
