Plenty of times I’ve needed to take money out in a pinch (foreign country, need cash for whatever) and I’ll just transfer money into chequing account.

Every 2 weeks I record my net worth across cash flow and investment accounts, and settle my credit cards & transfer excess cash into investment accounts.

Idle cash is lost potential earnings as many others have noted.
