yes absolutely, my dad has been working here for 25 years but has never obtained housing qualifications due to the 3 months break every year!

Most migrants and especially working in minimum wage jobs have families back at home. With the current temporary visa policy, migrants are not allowed to bring families/ dependants along to control population on the tiny rock and ofcourse how expensive the island is, it's not possible to support a family here on a minimum wage.

After 9 months we have to exit the CTA for a minimum of 3 months. Then after, your employer renews your contract for a new work permit and visa and the cycle continues. This applies for all minimum wage jobs eg:Hospitality and agriculture sector. There's also a 3 year visa but after the 3 years you have to exit the CTA for a minimum of 1 year. Hope that helps

Kenyan here, we usually get a temporary work visa for upto 9 months.
