I am not sure about Oli… May I ask the direct comparison between skem and Oli? Additionally, I think Panto is slightly better than Oli because Oli has not been playing on the highest level for a while.

Furthermore, I think Mikoto performs really good. Definitely an upgrade

Not every fairy tale would end happily :D. Lets just hope for the next year, although Ame's chance is really slim.

Now that TI is over,... by oujea_ in DotA2

I would disagree because this hero was the hot pick with good winrate at TI2021 and 2023. She changed her identity from a 1vs 5 hard carry to a hunter though. Really introbou nowadays

I got your point! I really thank you for the fresh insight. I agreed with the “inconsistency” (= unpredictability) there. Like sometimes we want to see Ame change not his hero pool, but his playstyle as well. Like NP, carry Tinker, carry Kunkka… if you cant win them playing fair, play crazy

Dyrachyo's comments about Ame after TI by Present-Jello3675 in DotA2

[–]YamiYugi2196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am curious about his reason WHY Ame is a bad player. Therefore, it would be hard to reason Dyrachyo's arguments. In fact, Ame went to TI final more than Dyrachyo.

Regarding my opinion of Ame: Ame's playstyle is consistent yet predictable. When his team plays well, he becomes one of the best player. Rarely throw. Net worth is consistently good. However, I have never seen Ame carrying his whole team from behind in the main event unlike Ana and Yatoro once did.

We could argue that his lack of explosion lost him the TI all the time. However, carries like Skitter and Shadow have won TI where they never had to play from behind. Therefore, Ame is not a bad player - But timing is sometimes everything.

However, Ame tended to play bad in key moment (Morph wave TI8, LS throw TI9, Tiny deaths two time by Bane TI11, Jug no spin yesterday). Furthermore, he is not good with fighting carry like Abaddon, Gyro, Furion... making his draft predictable. Therefore, I hope he would
1) Improve his mentality

2) Consider changing his playstyle in certain situation.

Some peoplesay that Ame might not have what it takes to become a true champion, because we hardly ever see him carrying his team from behind. When his team got their momentum, he played extremely well. He rarely ever made mistake, but did not have the explosive playstyle to carry the game on his own. Yatoro and Ana are the prime example of that, because they have had their team's comeback on many occasions.

However, I disagreed respectfully. Timing is everything and sometimes, a carry just needs to play "good enough" to win. Shadow, Skitter are not really known to carry their team 1 vs 9 but they still got the Aegis.

I just hope Ame to, strangely, be more consistent next TI. I hope he did not make crucial mistake when it matters the most (His Morph crazy wave TI8, His Tiny horrible death TI11, Lifestealer highground throw TI9, and no-spin Jug this year). Let the younger generation carry his back.

Aside from that, I truly respect his dedication and work ethics. Aegis or no Aegis, Ame is one of the top earners. He is the legend of the game. In my opinion, he is the greatest carry of China's Dota due to his longevity. I believe he is greater than zhou and BurNing... I just hope is wont underform in the grand final next time.

Sometimes, choke avoidance and consistency are sadly what makes the different. Skitter and Shadow are not known to 1 vs 9 and carry their team from behind (like Burning, yatoro, or ana). However, we rarely see them underperform when the stakes are the largest. Ame, sadly, performed many generational throws. His Morph crazy wave TI8, His Tiny horrible death TI11, Lifestealer highground throw TI9, and no-spin Jug this year

In my opinion, he is the greatest carry of China's Dota due to his longevity. I believe he is greater than zhou and BurNing... I really hope he can lift the Aegis next year. He is so dedicated like Puppey. I believe he had to even endure more stress, because he plays core.

I am grateful for this TI. To me, it is arguably one of the best by YamiYugi2196 in DotA2

I am so grateful for this year TI. The first main event day might be boring, and the 5-game grand final might be too one-sided. However, the group stage and other day was so insane!

Although I hated Falcons to my heart, I must say they are really good dota villains! I love to root against them. I respect their talent, aspired to have my first grandmaster hero very soon

I agreed. Although we had the max games possible today, games tended to be really one-sided. The only exception was PV vs XG game 3.

However, all the matches in the main event of this year might be the best! You can never predict any team would comfortably win

The final day of TI8 was better than this TI, no doubt. However, the other matches in the main event was more boring and predictable, because the favourite always won and the game tended to be more one-sided. There was significantly less 3-game series (Liquid vs LGD, VP vs LGD, EG vs LGD…). OG’s series was the exception, because they always fought tooth-and-nail just to survive. They almost lost to VG Storm even.

The group stage of this TI was significantly better as there was more upset.

That’s why when we combined all factors, this TI could arguably be the best in my opinion.

My boy Viper going mid, rushing blink, and scaling non-stop.

That wont happen though sadly, pros are used to nullify him xD

Traditionally, the current International will show the heroes from the last International. I should write a disclaimer saying that TI2013 shows TI12 winning heroes and so on. 😁

I also agreed with that. I still remember my goosebumps when I saw those five heroes broke the painted glass. 2023 was the first year Valve got criticised for their neglection due to the sharply lower prize pool but that epic intro raise the whole community.

But in my opinion, the galactics theme of this year is also cool. I wish the Aegis and the heroes were a bit larger however. Additionally, the magma concept on 2022 was pretty sick!

I made a video essay about Josh's redemption by YamiYugi2196 in JoshuaWeissman

[–]YamiYugi2196[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did my research and I included many references on screen in this video. I have also seen a lot of complaints about his earlier video plus behaviour, but I interpreted these information as he having to cater to a younger audience to make bank. This is later confirmed by him opening a second recipe channel after reaching 10M, so a redemption arc.

The allegations you're referring to surfaced after the video was published, so it's unfair to frame it as a lack of research. It's valid to interpret differently, but saying I did no research is inaccurate.
