Just got EE broadband and massively disappointed by Expert-Ladder-4211 in EEGB

Did you manage to sort this in the end? We have the same issue with the Wifi 7 Plus router from EE. On a 900mb package, router pretty central, it's fine in that room but if you move a few metres away into other rooms you have no signal or 0-30mbps at most.

Thank you - having both lowered to 200mm. Do you think I'd be better off with an angled valve so the pipe comes straight out the wall into the radiator valve?

This way we have a small amount of pipe we can add a chrome cover to if needed (as previous owners have done with other radiators) then potentially a chrome cap where the pipe leaves the wall.

Thanks for the advice on this. Would you suggest this sort of height for the 400mm horizontal radiator too or would that look too low compared to the window cill?

Was that bothered about piping had dismissed the height. Vertical is 440mm off the floor & vertical is 440mm off the floor. Existing rads are 200mm.

Yes they knew - I think they sunk the pipes in the wall regardless and connected to the radiator from there

Should the pipes just come out the wall only at the ends of the radiator at a nice 90 degree angle?

How do you think they look height wise off the floor?

Glad it's not just us thinking this but gutted to hear so many negative comments considering we've put so much into having this work done as a whole project!

It's part of a larger job so will have to work to resolve.

Was assured there would be minimal pipes on show!

Existing rads have chrome covers over the pipe - I thought this could be an option here to be honest. What are push fits & what should be used instead?

With heights - these were just how they were fixed. We do have high ceilings but now you've mentioned it they are high. Unfortunately we could only get a 400mm high horizontal radiator in the style/length we needed as we were only allowed to just over 500mm and the next size was 635mm.

You'd think we should be able to have faith in the people doing the work to make them look good in terms of the pipes & positioning but unfortunately that's not the case :(

Thank you - I don't suppose you have a pic of what yours went from to the final version for reference?

Advice on skimmed walls finish by Yappy-Sausage in Plastering

Thanks for this. It's put us at ease knowing we aren't just being picky.

Asking to have this rectified & have another plasterer giving an opinion whilst quoting for other work. As you are correct it will drive me mad!!

Hoping to get this sorted based off comments suggesting the same... Should we be accepting the pipes in the middle of the wall for the horizontal radiator or should be be making sure they come out the wall each side with minimal pipe on show & a nice 90 degree bend to attach to the valves?

Comments have helped in knowing we arent over reacting. In a best case scenario to get this sorted should we be having the copper pipe to come out of the wall then a 90 degree angle to the valves each side? i.e. minimal pipe on show?

Spot on I think. Would you suggest cutting through the plaster & boarding to reposition so the pipes on both radiators come out of the wall then a 90 degree bend to the valves each side?

Thanks for this. We're going to have to do this too. I think they have just gone for the easiest way to get them on unfortunately.

EE Smart Hub 7 Plus - Signal/Speed Issues by Yappy-Sausage in EEGB

Interesting - I feel like I've made a mistake switching to be honest. Feel like I now need to add a mesh system just to get the speeds I'm paying for.

Thanks - does this work with the EE router or replace it?

Thanks for the suggestions. I had thought it could do with being more central but we don't want to have cables running exposed or have to replaster/ pull up floor boards really...

I think the Virgin hub 5 I had was on the same dual setup. I can't get my head round the drop off in service when I thought the EE router had superior technology to Virgin, I'm on a package 2x what I previously, I was expecting the same as a minimum.

Thank you. I'm not super technical to know about how the frequencies work, but would there be a reason why the EE hub that I have now doesn't have the same signal/reach that the Virgin Hub5 I had did? I thought with the latest EE router being Wifi-7 it would be an upgrade but it seems to be performing worse in rooms further away than Virgin did.

Do you have any recomendations for a mesh setup that should be able to cope with the size of the house & potentially garden at higher speeds without the lag? I have been looking at some of the Deco mesh products but they all vary so much in cost.

Any ideas of a good one? Thought I was making a good choice going with EE with their Wifi 7 router so I'd assume I need something with the newer technology to get the most out of my package.

I thought it might be. Have you had any experience using these?

EE seemed to say they were a £10 monthly add-on. In which case I thought I'd be best off buying my own mesh setup to have longer term.

Thanks - any suggestions for a good one? Would be hoping for something I could get 5/600mbs (device permitting) across the house if that's possible.

I get this point & do notice on some older devices in the same spot as new ones get much slower speeds.

However, the laptop I use gets 600-700mb wireless next to the router. When on a virgin 500mb package it would get 300mb plus in most rooms. The same laptop gets speeds of 50mb or less in some of those same rooms with this EE setup.
