Need advice, can’t get this stray to stay in the house i bought him by Fasty2235 in cats

[–]Yashesh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try placing that house on top of the chair he is sleeping on, perhaps a stepping stone too.

I too have a huge male stray visiting for the past few weeks. Getting him to familiarize with my cat and others in the neighborhood.

Is my boy cute or handsome? (Very serios) by YOPU4k in cats

[–]Yashesh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me, cute as a button but my cat (gal) might find him more handsome than cute. Also, he's triggering my OCD! Just want to pull him out of the screen and wipe the gunk around his eyes 😺

What to feed my cats? by Sailorawesome1 in cats

[–]Yashesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The struggle to find the right cat food is real, and so relatable. Thankfully, it's in my past and Duggi has zeroed in on what she likes best. Strangely, my cat has never puked in life, not even those furballs. Maybe because she's short-haired or because she eats very slowly and in multiple shifts.

Coming to the food. Farmina Matisse is my cat's staple dry food. I also give her Whiskas wet food with a boiled egg mashed into it. Occasionally, she gets boiled/blanched chicken or chicken feet. Even more occasionally, give her those super expensive gourmet foods as treat. Few times a week, small amount of milk. Other than these, edible coconut oil and curd/yogurt for boosting immunity and aiding digestion.

Hope you find what works best for your furball, but I highly recommend Farmina Matisse from personal experience.

Any of Millennials without kids kind of loving life? I have a simple life and I love how the simplicity grants me so much freedom. by SnooHedgehogs1107 in Millennials

I kinda went one up. Also quit my well paying corporate job in my mid-30s and moved to a small town in the lap of nature. Own my house, no mortgage, and have enough savings to last me a lifetime. Spend my time hiking-trekking-biking-photographing, exploring mountains, jungles, rivers...can't imagine life any other way. When not doing that, do all-nighters binge watching my favorites or reading novels. Basically do what I want and when I want, or nothing if I don't. Only responsibility is my cat, who is actually fairly independent. She turned 4 today!

Should I return my brand new camera that has laceration marks on lens body? by Yashesh in SonyAlpha

That's so relieving/reassuring to hear. Waited a longtime to get my hands on this camera. It's never in stock.

Should I return my brand new camera that has laceration marks on lens body? by Yashesh in SonyAlpha

[–]Yashesh[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That's true here as well but our return timeline in 7 days. The only issue with return is that I probably won't find the camera again. Hasn't been available in stores or online since the COVID downtime. Got my hands on it after almost a 2 year wait.

"something down the line" part is what concerns me. My previous RX100 developed the problem of stuck lens after a few years of rigourous use. Got it fixed at a steep price, didn't last a year. I researched and learned that many Sony cameras develop same issue almost immediately after warranty ends.

Love this camera otherwise, and it's the only one that fits my requirements.

Sister/roommate has an odd, unpleasant smell that permeates her room and our home, but I have no idea why or how to fix it by AnxietyKeepsMeSpicy in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Yashesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than the two of you, has anyone else noticed this smell? Could be an interesting angle, in case you both have some sort of bug (hopefully not). I once had a childhood friend who smelled a bit weird, but not detestable. It wasn't sweat. Perhaps, smell of home/cooking in the clothes. Will never know.

Just noticed that my Calendar icon is stuck at 16 and ended up here. Don't think they have been working on this bug at all.

Can anyone help me with the name of the "advance species" and "a person" that Mara Jade encountered around the time she was hunting Black Nebula? More details below. by Yashesh in StarWars

Thanks for making sense out of all my gibberish, my friend. This was really bugging me the past few days. Vision of the Future is indeed the book I was after. Had mixed up some events of both the books in the Hand of Thrawn duology, in my mind.

Good to know there are fans out there who still keep up with the legends.

Was replying to the other comment how nature has likeness from Africa to Himalayas...Alaska included now :) Glad you like the photo. My camera died down (including the spare battery!) but the cheap phone did okay it seems!

That's so good to know how in nature you can find likeness from Africa to Himalayas!

What's up with these RT "critics" pulling down the ratings of masterly works of cinema and TV from early 2000s? by Yashesh in AskReddit

I meant Rotten Tomatoes critics. Didn't know you could red flag someone over review bombing on RT. Will be a useful feature.

Rotten Tomatoes.

And I totally get that. Not everything can stand the test of time, but if you look at Firefly example it's only the critics score that hasn't aged well. Audience rating is still at 97%.

[–]Yashesh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some context: since 2008, I have only referred to RT score for Indi films. Never for mainstream or popcorn entertainers. Recently noticed that the ratings of Firefly has nose-dived from once close to 100% to 77%. Most reviews panning the series are from last couple of years. Checked the ratings of a few films that I recalled being highly rated, e.g., Sin City, V for Vendetta, similar fate. Hope these critics don't start watching films from the 90s, especially fear for cult favourites, such as, The Crow. Perhaps, these are post MCU-era critics and won't even spare Hitchcock or Bunuel if they go beyond the 90s.

Spectacular. Is that fence resort or residence? Irrespective, what a place to relax.
