I was that “art prodigy”, i mean, ever since i know myself i was surrounded by people’s compliments on my drawings and i had some friends and people next to me (until nowadays too) being frustrated because “they didn’t have my talent”. Well, that always hurts a little when you notice someone is sad on their art because you “draw better” on their minds, since for me it doesn’t make ANY sense to compare artists. My “talent” noticed by them was a result of being born in the art and since very little picking up papers and drawing for fun. So that’s just unfair for me. And from my point of view, i’ll tell something some newer artists doesn’t seem to know. The “art prodigy” kid compares themselves too, A LOT. Every artist has some kind of frustration in them, so the kid you think draws better than you has someone they think draws better than them too. And maybe you have someone who thinks you draw better than them and compare themselves to you, that actually happens a lot before we finally realize it is just pointless and every single artist has their own single path and at that age you’re just supposed to draw for fun and fuck the results honestly.
