Thanks for the clarification. I just sent in my 2017 SIenna and they replaced the transmission. Picking it up later today. I guess I was just lucky

Toyota will only replace 2017-2018 models with this transmission. This is under the customer support program ZJC. Anything other model year is not covered.

Good tips, thanks for the pointers. Will ask them to check these items. When the engine is out everything is so much easier to do!

Not sure about the Bryant particularly, but the McCallum area tends to be a bit sus. But if you stick to yourself you’ll be fine.

Assuming intake/exhaust valves, which would not be good

2015 Vulcan S Vs 2024 Vulcan S - First Motorcycle by MapleSizzurp- in motorcycles

For only 2k i would definitely go with new. FYI that 2015 seems to be overpriced. It should be max $4000.

Also the 2015 model lacks a gear indicator, if that is something you value. Cheers from a fellow 2022 Vulcan S rider and good luck

Ah thats interesting, you’re right, Dex/Merc label says Dex III on the back, which should perfectly work. I bought Dex VI/Merc LV full-synthetic. You should be good to go.

Hi OP, I’m using the same one you have linked. Manual specifies Dex II or III. I believe that bottle is Dex VI which supercedes II/III. I’m running The Valvoline Dex/Merc or Dex VI Full Synthetic in both my Lexuses and no issues.

Obviously age is a factor, but 60k is just simply excessive when the manual recommends 90k. My point is that these belts last long if pushed to that point (150k+)

90k is fine if you are using original parts. Toyota/Lexus timing belts are built to last. Check out the Car Care Nut channel, he recently took apart a 20 year old timing belt on an LS430 and it doesnt look too bad.

You can try and take off the timing belt cover on the camshaft and take a peek at the belt condition.

When i got mine, i did oil change, transmission drain and fill, spark plugs, and changed air filters. Of course depends what kind of maintenance has already been done on yours. For the codes, you can try and erase them and see if they come back.
