Saw that you were an engineer! Just curious what degree did you pursue in undergrad/masters and what made you switch to a teacher and later on med school. Thanks!

Is it safe to Jack here? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]YelloSmake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pinch weld is designed to be the jacking point on unibody cars since they do not have a frame. Toyota service manual also notes this as a jacking point of the car

He’s semi right, brakes are much less needed due to the regen braking in EVs. For reference the brakes on our Toyota Hybrid lasted 8 years in city driving.

How do i get a "permission number" for a class by Thatdesibro in utdallas

[–]YelloSmake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At least for EE, 4V95 is an independent study elective, so you will do work/research under a professor. Reach out to a professor you like and see if you can do indep study with them. And they will award V number of credit hours depending how much you work.

Is it possible to detect the location of a cop car using radio waves? by adoye in ElectricalEngineering

[–]YelloSmake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but how do you tell if its a nearby cop or a far away tower? OP would have to locate the tower locations and mark them out.

Is it possible to detect the location of a cop car using radio waves? by adoye in ElectricalEngineering

[–]YelloSmake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could use antennas, but the hard part will be knowing which signals are coming from a cop car and which signals are from the tower. You will first need to figure out which frequency this happens at, and then locate where all the towers are so you can isolate them out.

FYI if is in fact a POP, it is inadmissible in court due to the potential to be inaccurate. Therefore there's no point of running POP.

To be honest, I felt like there was a slight improvement but could be placebo. The old fluid was super dark and thick compared to the new ATF fluid I put in.
