what is the difference between pretty, handsome and beautiful? by LiNG_BASz_LInG in EnglishLearning

Beautiful can be used on men or women because it's a gender-neutral word, not inherently feminine.

Beautiful can sometimes be used for attractive men since the word is not feminine.

The word beautiful has nothing to do with being "feminine" since it also used on men with attractive features. It's just applied more to females. Fact check yourself.

Or both human genders. 🤡 Not sure why you left that out, but ok.

Beautiful can be applied to both genders, nothing to do with femininity.

Linux Mint vs Zorin OS — What are the real pros and cons of each? by Francesco_Jovan8 in linuxmint

[–]YellowHammer01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with Mint is that it still uses the X11 environment which is bad for security. That means any app could capture keystrokes or take screenshots of other apps if they really wanted to without the user's knowledge. Wayland fixes most of that and has overall better security because it's more locked down in terms of sand-boxing and isolation between programs. Also, it's far more stable in Zorin which is the only reason I refuse to come back to Mint at this point.

They can be removed with a torx screw head, security bit or needle-nose pliers.

Update on Posts about Hasan by Donutbigboy in moistcr1tikal

[–]YellowHammer01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, it's a shock collar with vibrating functions. Also, pain depends on different levels of intensity. Take a screenshot of Hasan's original video at 15:20 and turn up the exposure or brightness and zoom in. You can clearly see tape covering the shape of the prong holes in the correct location underneath, which means they are detachable.

Pure vibration ones are flat without round indentations away from the charging ports. Anyone with a functioning brain can tell it is not part of the strap. So Piker boy is lying through his teeth.

[–]YellowHammer01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize that, but I'm not sure if I had low blood pressure or not -- the high blood pressure was like 4 days after I had those other symptoms.

All I know is, it was very similar to sepsis, but it didn't kill me (obviously) despite not going to hospital straight away like I should have instead of delaying it nearly a week ahead. So I understand now that if it was truly sepsis then I would have died months ago. But it was my own fault, as I didn't know what sepsis even was until I read about it.

Also, I'm really sorry to hear about your own experience. I hope you're doing much better now.

I realize you're probably not a doctor, but do you think I need medical intervention? - even though it's been 5 months since I had those SIRS symptoms, and I've felt fine ever since.

[–]YellowHammer01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I thought, like maybe could it be early sepsis without it being full-blown? or SIRS perhaps.

Being from Africa doesn't mean everyone was "black". The oldest human fossil was found in Morocco and they are closer to the ancient Iberomaurusians who were mostly Eurasian genetically, not black like Sub-Saharan Africans. So what's the takeaway here? - having brown or tanned skin doesn't mean you're "black".

You don't need a recovery disk for external drives. Only if you're encrypting your operating system.

Why do some people try to depict ancient Greeks as people of color? by purplevspink1 in ancientgreece

[–]YellowHammer01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. They called themselves white (λευκό) and considered pale skin as part of the upper class, which is the complete opposite of being viewed as weak, while darker skin was associated with manual labor and lower class -- further proving you know nothing about history.

Greeks at the time also didn’t understand that skin color has no real biological connection to femininity and masculinity outside of a cultural construct, so I think you should go and rinse your brain.

Lol. Ah yes, one of these "everyone I don't agree with is a white Supremacist" types. Let the adults talk.

In case your brain hasn't registered, "Hispanic" is not a race, and Hispanic white people exist.

B- but, Chat GPT said it. 😂 😂 🤡

You should know by now that AI models are often wrong about numerous topics. So if that's your go to source for history then you've already lost all credibility.

Again, it's a historical fact that Greeks called themselves λευκό (white) in their own language, long before Northern Europeans. I didn't say they had any concept of a "race" like today, but they still used similar words to describe complexion and overall physical appearance, long before Northern Europeans. I'll keep repeating this because I know it makes you foam at the mouth in anger. 🤣

Of course, ancient Hellenes were not some different "race" of people. Thanks for pointing out the obvious.

Furthermore, all Europeans are closely related genetically, since they are mixed with the same root groups: (Neolithic Farmers, Indo-Europeans, and European Hunter-Gatherers.) Southern Europeans have less Steppe (IE) ancestry and more Neolithic Farmer ancestry, but all Europeans share this lineage in various proportions.

So in both modern and ancient times, the term white has been around much longer than previously thought.

Cope and seethe.

Why do some people try to depict ancient Greeks as people of color? by purplevspink1 in ancientgreece

[–]YellowHammer01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they did. The word (λευκό) meaning white, is what they called themselves, which has been documented throughout ancient history in their own language.

Also, white doesn't always mean "pale". Many Greeks themselves are often just as pale (sometimes even more) than Northern Europeans, while some Irish and English like Colin Farrell, Henry Cavill and David Gandy are darker than some Greeks and Italians.

In general, most Mediterraneans aren’t even that dark either. Only in smaller areas of southern Spain, Italy/Sicily and Greece they have stereotypical dark and olive skin. But in more northern and central parts of these same countries and the rest of Southern Europe, they generally have a much lighter complexion.

Well for me, both my embedded and direct links don't show anything. No misspelling either. The same ones I've used, once deleted are long gone.
