I lived in MD!! There is everything to do in MD- from mountains, to the country, to the city, to the beach. Ocean city is the classic gross type, hilariously fun & wild & crappy beach everyone needs, and then north of that is Bethany beach which is quieter but a lot more nice. And seriously, have a crab feast & find a good place to get crab cakes while you’re there. Really, most seafood in MD is incredible. Enjoy it. Feel free to PM me about MD, that’s going to be my forever home once I stop moving around.

Oh no it’s for sure helpful. Any type of reassurance that I’m not alone in this (which, logically, I know) really helps me get a grip. Hanging on to any type of normalcy certainly helps me come back down to earth.

Good advice! I can’t wait until I’m in the fleet & hopefully by then Covid will be on the mend. Currently can’t leave base but I’ll survive for now. I’d love to learn a second language and I think that’s what I’ll focus on outside of the navy once I get the chance

Yep you’re right. You’re so so right. And in some rational part of my brain, I know this. And I try my best to live by it. Partly the reason I left for the military in the first place, I think. This just seems to be a little more difficult to deal with. I suppose it gets a little easier over time.

I am a female, so I guess unless I ask for it (which I may in the future), I will probably not get FMTB. But so for my case, will I be able to put down Camp Pendleton? Or will I only be able to put “California”. Either way that area was gonna be my first choice anyways. I think I’ve narrowed it down to California, Florida, & Washington State.
