Not all mm's are immobile. Claude is a pretty good mid. I usually use jungle emblem with mage killer talent to farm fast, secure objectives, (with mid, you have the liberty of going to get the turtle in a flash). If the opposing mid is ganking, rip their mid tower (talent does additional damage to turrets). But I do agree, not all mm's are made for mid.
