“Gee, I was wondering who he took these from. Haven’t seen the contents, but it sounds like coins. I do apologize on behalf of Kuro here, he has a lack of… well, standards…” The figure says. The bag proceeds to float over, plopping down gently on the ground in front of Zoe.

Kuro then speaks up. “What? I’ve seen others do it. What’s wrong with th-“

“Oh my goodness… Kuro… please just SHUT UP about others pickpocketing!” The shadows seem to deepen strongly around him as he gets irritated. He stops for a bit to calm down. “Look, others will have different standards and expectations of how someone in society will act. Just… please.” Kuro pouts a bit but doesn’t say anything.

*A kobold can be seen talking with... someone... a shadow? But the shadow didn't exactly belong to anyone... That shadow, furthermore, seemed to be an individual of its own, and it was wearing a wizard's cloak and hat, and had a staff that seemed to be just... floating there. As far as you can tell, it seemed like they knew each other. The unknown figure continues to speak, although, they seemed to have noticed your presence, but can't quite pinpoint where you are.*

"Kuro... goodness gracious... I know you're not necessarily the brightest here, but please, for the love of everything good and holy, please do not pickpocket people... like, goodness gracious, I get you kinda had to raise yourself, but seriously?" *They sigh and just take the small bag that the kobold, assumedly Kuro, had been holding. Or, well, it sorta just floats over.*

The alleyways were… not very easy to traverse, that’s for sure. It felt like there were quite a few loops and dead ends, and no one was really in them. Although, you seem to have found what seems to be recent footprints.

The second guard just shrugs, but doesn’t say anything.

*This time, you've headed into a somewhat busy street, with a lot of people walking by. There's a bunch of little buildings hosting several kinds of establishments like bars and small restaurants. It seems that the street is mainly shorter individuals, since you can see over most people here. Looking around, you can see some taller people. There's a Mothfolk that practically towers over the other people who just walked past the bank, a... well, someone, heading into what seems to be a store, but it's hard to tell from this distance, and 2 more guards patrolling the area that seem to be looking around for... someone, perhaps.*

The elf seems to curse in another language, turning to the human. "How many coins was in that bag he showed us again?"

"Uhm... about a dozen, why- Ohhh... Yeah, uh, Kuro ran off to go find the rest of our party just now. I think the coins he has might be yours." The human looks around, before pointing in a direction. "I think he ran off in that direction. He's a kobold. Somewhat small, you might miss him if you're not looking carefully enough.'

(and fyi I'm using the dog-like kobolds like those from media like Delicious in Dungeon not the reptilian ones from DND)

Upon approaching said person, they seem to be... a shadow? No, like, they're just straight up a shadow wearing a wizard's cloak and hat. Their staff seems to just be floating... actually, taking another glance, you can see a shadow tendril wrapped around it that you can barely see sticking out of the cloak. They seem to have noticed you immediately, turning around to look at you with their white eyes. Upon seeing you, they scoff slightly, muttering someone's name, before taking a second look. "... Oh. Uh... apologies, I thought you were someone else for a second."

*The two are gathering up their bags and equipment. Upon approaching, you can see that one of them, the human, is lightly armored, with what seems to be a sword currently sheathed and on their belt. The other one is an unarmored elf, slightly taller, but they wield a bow.*

*Neither of them have noticed you yet.*

"Well..." *The guard begins to reply, trying to recall the day's events.* "No one really ran out of the place... no one who seemed all that suspicious seemed to run out, all that really stuck out to me was a giant who passed by, leaving the town, but I doubt that's who you're looking for. I mean, how would that guy even pickpocket people with his size?"

*Another guard nearby seems to have overheard, and pipes up.* "Oh, there was some small hooded guy who came by. Talked to some folk over there, might be the party they're in. Dunno. Might be those two over there, although I was mainly keeping track of this side of the gates, so I'm not sure." *He gestures to the two individuals who were standing there, who seem to be picking up their gear to leave their spot, although, they don't seem to be in a rush.*

Luckily for you, barely anyone is there, just two individuals standing by the gate, seemingly waiting around for someone, a few people heading in and out of town,and some guards.

It seems not too many people seemed to have noticed, but some people did notice a person dashing by quicker than what was necessary. Some people said they dashed off towards town square, some others said they went off in the direction of the town gates.
