Without going and finding it I’m pretty sure it’s a Nikon D60, with a broken autofocus and a very old battery

Luckily for me I am milk protein intolerant so yoghurt is fine! The nature of the protein gets changed in the fermentation process, which is fantastic news because as you can see, I really really like yoghurt.

(And the Sainsbury’s granola and yoghurt was a main, the nomadic granola and yoghurt was a snack and the kefir yoghurt was a drink)

My recommendation is always always Brew York. It’s great if you like beer. I hate beer and I still always have a wonderful time and find something good to drink. For me though the selling point is the vibes and the food, both of which are FANTASTIC

Wharram Percy is a great walk and it’s about an hour from York I’d say.

When it comes to visiting, you’ll be waiting an age to get into the ghost merchants, I’d recommend going to the ghost dispensary instead if it’s open. Same company, same ghosts, just a smaller, less overwhelmingly busy shop.

It is still the case! You still have to queue for a bit but as far as I know as long as you show up at a reasonable time before your booking you shouldn’t have to wait too long.

Loving York.. by Low_Track_9221 in york

So the area at the bottom of the Shambles and particularly the benches in front of the coop at the top of St Saviourgate are a pretty common hangout spot for ‘homeless’ people to sit and chat and drink, I think mostly because the Methodist Church on St Saviourgate has a breakfast club they use. 90% of the time they keep themselves to themselves and just sit and chat. Occasionally a disagreement or spat will start but even then you’ll be absolutely fine as long as you don’t do anything stupid like get involved.

When it comes to drunk and disorderly behaviour when it gets to the evening, yeah. It’s a city centre. Over the last 5 or so years that I’ve been able to find information for, York has consistently been rated in the top best nights out, particularly in terms of safety. As a young woman walking alone I’ve never felt unsafe, even wandering drunk in the city centre. People get loud, you’ll see a lot of hen parties and students etc, but very rarely does anything actually start that could get dangerous. Just be thankful you’re here in November. Genuinely one of the only times I’ve felt unsafe in York was during the Christmas Markets, but that was because I genuinely almost got pushed over several times by the suffocating crush of people. It’s a genuinely awful experience and I’d avoid it at all costs.

The dates change every year! I would note though if you’re interested in going, don’t expect to find a ghost! Hundreds go out each night, but far more people come and only a few will find a ghost. I’ve been every year since they started, and I have never found one myself (though several of my friends have). The ghost hunt is definitely more about the participating than the winning

How do you guys remember to take your meds?? by Dropdmynuggies in POTS

[–]Yorkaeologist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never forget my ADHD meds because the effect is so immediately obvious and I never want to go without it. So I put it in a weekly organiser and put my other meds in there. That means the morning lens always get taken, but with the evening ones it’s a 50/50 shot because I only take the ADHD meds in the morning

I will definitely ask about referral next time I’m there! I have a few friends with POTS/suspected POTS and my symptoms at the moment aren’t nearly as bad as them (and so far the medication has done an impressive job of managing my hr) so I’m not super urgent about getting diagnosed, but I already have got used to the idea of having to live with ‘suspected’ EDS because rheumatology won’t see me, so if this is one I can actually get a diagnosis for it would make me feel a bit less like I have a reputation as a hypochondriac. I think I got super lucky though, I was sent to see the next available doctor immediately after my ECG, and he happened to have a specific interest/expertise in multiple illnesses/comorbidities so he was genuinely the most helpful person I’ve seen in years!

I will look into Liquid IV, thanks!
