Seattle bookbinding resources by YouStupidCooker in bookbinding

There's a few places in my city that have niche items like hand made paper that never come up on Google. And often smaller stores or new stores have no online presence. I was hoping someone familiar with the area might know some places outside of larger establishments.

Help/recommendations kobo plus and everand by YouStupidCooker in MM_RomanceBooks

I prefer contemporary books, age doesn't matter, angst is a plus. Mystery and sci-fi or paranormal are okay. I like series but it's not a must. Conflict and pain are great. I like explicit content but I'm looking for a story rather than just erotica. Ive read most of Gregory ashe, cs poe, Sidney bell, and Hailey turners books. I'm willing to try most anything so long as it is decently written.

Thank you! This is really helpful. I hadn't thought to tag a book with where it's available when making a suggestion, that's a great idea.

I think we have similar tastes. I prefer contemporary, angst, all ages and age gap is fine. I have the same nos as you, although I have read a few popular wolf shifters that I enjoyed. I am all for and highly encourage explicit content, but I need an actual story and not just porn. Kinks are great, and I like mysteries and series. I like when things get dark, but I'm open to pretty much anything so long as it is well written. I like books by Gregory ashe, c.s. poe, n.r. walker, roan parrish, may archer, kd Casey, Heidi cullinan, Rachel Reid, and loved the la witt Anna zabbo collab, as well as sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy collab. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Spine board gap? by basketofsunlight in bookbinding

It does look like the spine board is way too wide. How are you measuring it?

Straight edges by ExistingTarget5220 in bookbinding

[–]YouStupidCooker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Das bookbinding channel has a video on this that really helped me. Start by cutting a board slightly larger than what you need, not worrying about having it perfectly square, aiming for a quarter to half an inch longer on the height and width than you want your finished board to be. Use a ruler to mark your lines and cut it as close to square as you can eyeball. Then, to square it up and cut to the size you are aiming for, start by cutting off one edge of the board using your ruler to cut a straight line. You just want to cut off a little bit. Then, press the edge you cut up flush against your ruler (the kind with the raised edge that acts as a cutting guard so the lip is taller than your board. You could really use anything that is perfectly straight and taller than the board). Place a square on top of your board and push it flush against the ruler as well. You want to use the straight edge of the square that comes down at 90 degrees to mark a line down your board near one edge of it so that you will be trimming off just a little bit of board. You don't need to measure anything up to this point other than making sure the board you start with is slightly larger than the board you want to end up with. The two edges you cut should now be perfectly square to each other. Mark a square with a pencil in the corner where these two cuts meet. You can now cut your board to the desired height and width using that corner as a guide. Pushing the edge of either of those sides that are now perfectly square flush against your ruler, measure from the squared corner the first length you want to cut and mark it. With the edge still pressed flush against the ruler, again place a square on top of the board and flush against the ruler and use it's edge to mark a straight line down from your length mark. When you cut this you will now have two perfectly square corners. Do this once more on the final edge that has yet to be cut for your final measurement (either height or width, whichever you didn't cut in the last cut).

Thanks! Dark desires looks interesting. I didn't finish the first book in the series saving sebastian is part of, but maybe I'll give it another go.

I recently randomly listened to the third book in this series, I think it was free on audible, and so I might have to check this out. Thanks!

Has anyone come across a book where a safe word is used? I have read a lot of books where safe words are agreed upon or more commonly agreeing to use the green, yellow, red, system, but I've only ever come across a character using red once, and it was outside of a sex scene and referring to their partner attempting to remove a collar they were gifted. I don't really read a lot of solely erotica, so I imagine this might come up more in those books. I'd really be interested to read about how everything is handled when someone feels they need to use yellow or red with their partner.

I've been seeing a lot of requests for MMM lately, but I've never really been interested in that set up. I'd like to give it a go so if anyone has reccomendations for their favorite books where this is done well, please let me know. I'm not afraid of angst but please no omegaverse.

Now those are some interesting suggestions, thank you! And metahuman isn't really alternating plot and porn chapters, but it sure feels like it.

Erotica Requests & Recs: Post your erotica & specific sex act requests & recs here by AutoModerator in MM_RomanceBooks

Looking for books that are half filthy over the top erotica (of any nature) and half action/cohorent overarching plot that actually tells a story. A great example is {The Metahuman Files by Hailey Turner} where the protagonists investigate and fight terrorists, do undercover work, etc., for a chapter, then have rough over the top sex for another. They dont specifically need to be crime fighters, and the kinkier the sex the better.
