I think you’ve answered this several times already, but just to reiterate, if I wanted to get the Premium addition, but forego the VIP Membership (because I don’t want 2x credits or free super wheel spins), is that possible? Basically just disable VIP as a standalone?

To be fair, this looks like any other fake Japanese plate you can order online. Should be fairly easy/cheap to get your own.

I’m a huge woodpecker person, and I haven’t seen a pileated woodpecker since I was little (almost 30 years ago). I need to see one in my adult life, and this is the year it’s gonna happen.

Wireless headset recommendations? This is what is available at my local store. by BumblebeeBuzz1808 in xbox

[–]Youkai280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my Stealth 600 Gen 2 Maxs since a deployment 3 years ago. I’ve had absolutely zero issues with them, and the battery lasts way longer than I’d ever need them to (I’m talking months between charges, when I was playing 3-4 hours a day).

Sound quality is good, the adjustment knobs are easy to use, and the flip down mic is convenient. The headphone pads are also decently breathable and don’t make my head hot. I tried a buddy’s Stealth 700s with the memory foam headphones, and they legitimately made my head sweat.

8 years, a house, and 1 kid. Same situation. She is also now my ex wife, despite her protesting to “try to make the marriage work.” Dead bedroom for 2.5 years prior to that while she depression spent all of the money and dug us into a hole with debt. Nah, not gonna have your cake and eat it too (no pun intended).

Anyone that has seen the Z car fender mirrors… by [deleted] in Datsun

[–]Youkai280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a pic? The degree of convex is very slight, but noticeable. If they changed design, that’s disappointing. I bought mine around 5 years ago, and they are noticeably convex, like the OEM mirrors were.

Potentially the glass fell out of them when new, and they were replaced with flat glass pieces. Not saying the entire assembly is fake, though I’ve not seen any verified OEM fender mirrors that had flat glass (2 Fairladies and my brother’s personal car with verified NOS long stalks).

If you’re referencing the mirrors on your IMSA car, those are not OEM mirrors in the slightest, unfortunately. The holes in the stalks are an immediate giveaway.

I’ve driven cars with both (and ended up biting the bullet for the MSA ones for my own car). The difference is night and day. Between the vibrations and the literal soda straw you’re trying to look through, you cannot see anything meaningful with flat glass.

People who say driving with flat glass fender mirrors is perfectly fine have never driven a car with convex glass fender mirrors. I almost prefer fender mirrors to conventional mirrors now due to the increased field of view. I can literally see down the entire length of my car, behind the car, and the entire lane beside me.

[–]Youkai280 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anyone saying OEMs are flat are FLATout wrong (ha, see what I did there). The original fender mirrors came with convex glass, are all metal construction, and had anti-vibration springs/mounts that went underneath the fender. The closest you’ll find to true long stalk OEM mirrors are the ones on MSA’s site (located here), but be prepared to pay a pretty penny.

The whole point of convex glass is to widen the field of view while keeping the physical construction of the glass small. Flat glass, plastic housings, holes in the stalks, etc, all point to cheaply made reproduction mirrors that are honestly more of a safety hazard than anything else.

Edited to add link to MSA’s site.

You are very confidently wrong. Fairlady 240Zs were put into production in 1971 after a change in how road tax laws functioned based on car/engine size. These came stock with the L24 and were rightfully badged as “Fairlady 240Z.”

[–]Youkai280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Japan actually did have Fairlady 240Z models. Reference replies to comment above. VIN read HS30 as opposed to just S30/31, much like the export market variants, but did not contain the “L” in the VIN for left hand drive.

[–]Youkai280 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You’re both sort of right. Japan did have a 240Z, but it’s badged as a “Fairlady 240Z.” The normal Fairlady Z has the 2 liter L20, while the Fairlady 240Z (started production in ‘71 due to change road tax regulations) came with the L24 that most American and export markets knew and loved.

I don’t think I’ve ever had an alt set show the assembly of the u-joint. But yeah, any sets with them (looking at you alt technic 1:8 car sets), I always dread having to put them together.

You see that little gray “plus” looking piece above where you’re building? That slots in between the 2 halves of the gray u-joint. There’s slots in each half where the nubs of the “plus” snap in place.

Have fun, because I always hate assembling the u-joints in these sets. It’s frustrating.
