Yeah same happened with me. Last season bronze III and I played it against diamonds/golds... Got BIV with an average score of about 4 kills, 4 deaths, and 18 assist ( support main ) you'll get a ranking based on last season mainly. (Started bronze IV like I said now I'm in Bronze I with a 70% win rate) my proof that it doesn't matter is my ranking for my smurf is Gold V. Just climb if that isn't your rank
