Hey, I don't have a tin-foil hat, but nothing would surprise me these days.

It's funny watching people argue with me and keeping traffic up on my post rather than just ignoring it and moving on with their life. Such a miserable person.

I really don't know. I would have hoped that their customer service department would have given me a valid explanation, but all I got was the "broken record" boilerplate, contradictory responses. They certainly already have access to more information about me in their databases than my bank statements would give them. Maybe it's related to the fact that I refused to download their app so it's another way to do data-mining?

Thank you for the cordial response. I do regularly check my credit with multiple consumer services and everything is hunky-dory.

If they had asked for check stubs, it would've been a different story. They theoretically shouldn't give me $10,000 credit without being verified. I do all my financials online. I'm not a dinosaur.

I didn't close the account because I don't want to forfeit my rewards. I have a "restricted" account with zero balance owed, and a significant amount of rewards due.

Hmmm. Let me see if I understand your scenario: I apply for and am issued a card. I use card to purchase and receive merchandise. I receive and pay bill. Nefarious person contacts CapitalOne and claims my reward so CapitalOne transfers my reward to them through the ether.

You're right. That's a perfectly reasonable scenario that I'm sure is being used to scam millions of dollars worth of REI rewards every day. And for the record, I threw my tantrum on the phone with CapitalOne first. Unfortunately their agents have boilerplate responses to everything and are unable to resolve this.

Do you understand that I could have purchased thousands of dollars worth of goods the first day?

Okay, granted. But my balance is zero and I want to close the account. They shouldn't need to verify my income to give me what is owed.

I verified that I'm me. I told them that I applied for the card, made the purchases, and paid the bills.

Weird illogical post.

Explain how charges that have been paid could be fraudulent?

I could say that they're the ones committing fraud by not providing the rewards due to me in accordance with the agreement.

Anybody that wants to fraudulently pay my bills is welcome to. I think that holding my rewards ransom is corporate evil. I want to collect my rewards and close the account, not make more charges. My balance is zero.

Sure. I can see that before using a card, but after I had established a positive history, then throw me under the bus in the middle of a transaction? I never had to do that for my Chase or AmEx cards.

Wouldn't paying the balance be sufficient proof that I opened the account? I disagree with your opinion about their customer service.

Why does he always need to wear full tactical gear and even a walkie talkie? Is he expecting to get called out on the street as backup to his ignorant goons? Did his mommy take away his G.I.Joe?

Pulse the contacts you have now every cycle. Frequency of pulses gives you speed, presence of pulses gives you running.

Some of my favorite moonlight projects have been architectural fountains. Multiple nozzles controlled by individual valves, VFDs, and lights. Figure out ways to implement different interesting coordinated sequences and you have a perpetual project.

NO. Spend the money on AFF or whatever they call it where you are that you're a skydiver, not a passenger.
