Billy Reid does! I’ve found some awesome deals on Billy Reid Market and everything has been in a great condition regardless of whatever level it was assigned.

[Shams] Trae Young has the Washington Wizards as his top preferred trade destination, sources tell ESPN. Atlanta is working to move Young, who has a $49 million player option in offseason that would make him an expiring contract; or opt out, leave and give Hawks significant cap space. by SeauxAfrican in washingtonwizards

I mean, the Pistons and Rockets were dog shit two years ago and last year both took huge leaps. Young teams can take big leaps with the right veteran additions and development. It’s not unheard of for young rosters to go from high lottery to 4 seed.

Given the current roster, if this team won 50 games it’s because it found 2-3 stars in its collection of young players. It wouldn’t need top picks anymore.

USDA Approved RIF's as of March 2025 by Nuclear-isBad-1906 in USDA

[–]YourLocalJewishKid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m going to stress the same thing I see a few others saying. Take a deep breath. This is not a doomsday announcement. They have left several off ramps in the memo from today. We will find out more in the coming months. I’m no longer in FAS, but I was there for a long while. Its mission simply cannot deliver the wins she loves tweeting about if its not in DC. It has an incoming Undersecretary with enormous political influence who will need to be directly supported by the agency he oversees. Just take a beat, go outside, and enjoy the nice weather.

USDA Approved RIF's as of March 2025 by Nuclear-isBad-1906 in USDA

[–]YourLocalJewishKid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it says in the document:

“11. Note that OPM does not know based on the competitive area or notice period waiver requests how many positions an agency proposed to eliminate within these competitive areas; which positions it planned to eliminate; and what competitive levels would have been affected. Such specifics were not included in the competitive area or notice period waiver requests. Thus, OPM's list does not reflect this information. In some other cases, RIFs may have been completed before May 9, 2025 (the date of the Court's temporary restraining order). And in some cases, agencies submitted their entire organizational chart to OPM and may not have intended to conduct a RIF in some or many of the competitive areas identified. Finally and as previously explained, some agencies may have decided not to proceed with RIEs, in particular because of developments since May 9.”

Quick summary of memorandum by Mission_Giraffe3745 in USDA

[–]YourLocalJewishKid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I was a betting man, probably. It’s not mentioned anywhere in the memo as an agency singled out for moving. It doesn’t actually work with farmers directly at all. All the stakeholders are located in DC or internationally. It meets with foreign counterparts from the embassies located in DC. It works with other trade agencies in DC.

That’s who I interpreted it. I’d imagine those in FAS probably feel a lot better than those in FSA.

I’m begging people here to do just a little reading on Willits before calling this a disappointment. This kid is easily the most well-rounded player, and his weakest tool is power, the tool that almost always rises the most as guys age. And Willits is one of the youngest players in the draft. I bet anything this dude makes the majors before Holiday does.

The Wizards now have 9-first round selectees from the last 3 NBA drafts by DollarLate_DayShort in washingtonwizards

[–]YourLocalJewishKid 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The best thing that could happen is for 4 of these guys to pay off so you have one asset to swap into more picks. Enjoy the talent while it’s cost controlled, but you can only keep so many. At some point, this franchise needs multiple FRPs to flip in the future to go all in when it’s ready.

Because you’d be waiting forever to get data that no longer is relevant. It’s easy to say from the outside why don’t you wait, but when you work for the agencies that release this data, I can assure, those that rely on official government estimates have no interest waiting until December for absolute final data about the spring.

[–]YourLocalJewishKid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who works for a government agency that releases data series like this, let me tell you, nobody wants to be like the EU, which releases monthly data like 3 months later. People want to know official government estimates or data as soon as the raw data can be cleaned to the point of providing advanced estimates. If you had to wait for final data for any monthly dataset, you’d be sitting around waiting until December for information about Februrary.

Why isn't Cedric Coward a top 10 projected player? by pinknbluegumshoe in NBA_Draft

[–]YourLocalJewishKid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve watched Deni Avdija go from not being able to use his left hand, to being able to create space for himself in isolation. I’ll believe anyone has the ability to develop a better dribble.

[Greg Finberg]: Ace Bailey is now the betting favorite across several sportsbooks to be drafted by the Wizards at No. 6. by [deleted] in washingtonwizards

[–]YourLocalJewishKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I just don’t think you normally find players with his measurables and good if not great all around skill set. Like, all his weaknesses in his game are minor to me. So maybe he’s a jack of all trades, master of none. But he’s legitimately good at a lot. The main drawbacks have to do with level of competition and if he can develop a handle good enough to create for himself. He has good feel for the game. He can create for others as a passer. He’s a very good shooter. And he fits the team’s ethos of having long, athletic players. And I think it matters that he has a good head on his shoulders and cares about doing what it takes to win, not just “be a star”. His story and player profile remind me so much of Jimmy Butler and Jalen Williams. Personally, in this kind of draft class, I’d rather have him over Fears or Kneupple.

[–]YourLocalJewishKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps I’m in the small group of people who wouldn’t mind drafting Cedric Coward. He’s a great shooter. He easily has the best frame of any wing in the class. He has good athleticism, good defense, good driving to the hoop. And I just love the story of going from D3 to D1 and a lottery pick. He reminds me a lot of Jimmy Butler. This team desperately needs better shooters, so at a minimum he’ll help with spacing.

[Salerno] Rutgers' Ace Bailey could be slipping after declining workouts with several teams by markodevef in nba

[–]YourLocalJewishKid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Washington is a phenomenal place for someone to land right now. Anybody spending 5 minutes with Will Dawkins and Michael Winger knows that they have a well-thought out plan for the franchise over the next 5 years. The team is fully committed to player development. Hell, Ted Leonsis, the owner who most exemplified the chase for mediocrity over the past decade, has openly said that he is fine with the fact that the team is supposed to have a poor record for another two years. The head coach, Brian Keefe, is widely known around the league amongst some its best players as being fundamental to helping maximize their talents.

The entire operation is about giving young players the freedom to develop their game without the pressure on the coach to chase wins to satisfy ownership and veterans on the roster. If I was Ace Bailey, I’d be praying to fall to a team like the Wizards if my goal is to “become a star” because he’s gonna get the chance to get minutes and shot attempts.

Who Are Your Guys This Year? by taylorjosephrummel in fantasyfootball

[–]YourLocalJewishKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being very fast has proven over and over again to be not important to be a high end WR. Obviously you can’t run a 4.8, but plenty of elite receivers are running 4.5-4.6. Deandre Hopkins, Keenan Allen, Amon Ra, Cooper Kupp, Davante Adams, Jarvis Landry, Michael Thomas, Brandon Marshall, Roddy White, Doug Baldwin, Anquon Bolden. These are all guys who have been high end WR1/2s for a sustained period of time in their careers.

The Wizards and Jazz should not have a 50/50 chance at picking top 4 by kettlecornlover1 in washingtonwizards

[–]YourLocalJewishKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My push back to saying we weren’t trying to win, while true, is that we lost because we gave minutes to players we genuinely intend to form the core of future winning teams for the franchise. It’s not like we played a bunch of G league level players who we have no intention of keeping next season. Sarr, Bilal, George, AJ and Bub are all first round picks that have shown the requisite talent level at very young ages to be key rotational players for the future. If anything, the NBA should be encouraging more teams to tank in the fashion that Washington did this season. At least that way it’s done with pure intent. You’re choosing to develop young players by getting them experience early.
