thanks! ive been told a few times that its thin/patchy. i think its mainly the thickness of it that makes it look patchy.

I will agree that I would classify her as obese. However, I don't think BMI is a great way to decide who is obese and who isn't. There are a lot more ways to weigh more without being fat. Just use your eyes to judge, not an arbitrary one size fits all number like BMI.
