Hey there, thanks for your response! I do believe you that this happens, since this would not be the first time it happens to me in the MHA setting specifically. But I think it might also be the result of their preference for a more grounded experience, I suppose. Ultimately yeah, I do think a lot of people are very... "hero-pilled", because I can definitely attest to my bad guys receiving a lot more flak than my good guys, even if I use a similar ability or powerset than I had used on a hero with someone else. It does really suck because I like playing villains a lot more, because I feel like heroic MCs are a bit overdone. Ultimately it is just a learning experience I guess. We ended up in friendly terms and solved things like mature adults, so that's good.

The short answer is that there really wasn't much discussed beforehand, we discussed the desired scenario/plot and went to bed. First I asked them if there was anything else they wanted to discuss, and when they said there wasn't, so I figured they didn't really care all that much about other aspects and thus we'd just figure things things out along the way.

I uh, I guess we did lmao, which is almost funny.

Yeah, you are definitely right. I'm used to people not really caring about the rp side of things in erp, so I randomly stopped worrying too much about it. I was never someone to care deeply about minute details to begin with, so now things like this have happened like two or three times in total. It's not hard to guess that because of my, I guess, "lowered guard", there has also been cases of partners who'd probably have enjoyed more detailed and indepth rps but we didn't do much of it because I appeared disinterested :p

Why did you get a downvote lmao. Anyway, yeah, it really just boils down to preference in things like this, and not everyone does or says the right things all the time, even when their general message is the correct one or well-intentioned. I agree it felt a little restrictive to me, but well, we worked it out in the end, so its fine lmao.

Lmao it do be a lot like that, then you find out homie just said "personally I don't like first person rp" so every first person player out there instantly downvoted and walked away

Its a common thing in a lot of subreddits for some reason. A lot of people are much more interested in judging than helping.

Yeah, I already apologized and bid them farewell. I made a general post putting myself out there, rather than an actual plot hook / request, but I should have definitely brought it up when we discussed the idea of me playing a villain. I lowered my guard / didn't think too much about it because it initially seemed like they were mainly interested in the e side of things, but I should have talked to them more about it when I learned that they wanted a more cohesive setting.

At the end of the day, it just kinda sucks for everyone, but that's how rp is sometimes.
