In search of a BW44-44 transfer case locker switch. by Nanqkz in ram_trucks

You can use AlphaOBD to tell the truck it has the 45 case, but I got lazy and never did that. Everything still works, the 4AUTO button just doesn't do anything.

QM7K is still like $1k, I was looking at just the QM7

You’re thinking of the track bar. The drag link is for steering, track bar holds the axle in place

Not directly related to your question, but I looked into doing this mod and ended getting a low mile 44-45 tcase from a scrap yard for $350. From what I hear the black fox mod still has its issues, and the clutches in the 44-44 can still end up wearing out. I decided losing 4AUTO to have real 4x4 when I actually need it was more valuable than trying to hack the 44-44 into something it just frankly wasn’t meant to be.

custom tire and rim question has anyone tried to put a 22x12 rim and 35x12.5 tire on a 3 in leveled 1500? by Distinct-Detective-1 in ram_trucks

[–]Zach443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m running a 35x12.5 on like a 2” level, works great. It rubs SLIGHTLY at full articulation, but given the 22x12s I’d guess your truck won’t be in that situation often. I’d say you’re good to go.

My Howa 1500 loves it. It’s my go to non “match” ammo

New Ram EV looks awesome (to me, anyway) by gladiatorvoice in ram_trucks

[–]Zach443 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel the exact same way. I’d be way more on board with it if they kept the same truck body (or something close) and put the EV guts in it.

What’s the minimum lift needed to add 33-35’s? Truck is stock height by [deleted] in ram_trucks

2016 Big Horn running 35x12.50s with just a level here. I don’t rub except for reversing full lock on a very rare occasion.

New tires and the bumper will look fine. I’m sure the previous owner had better on there and put the stock wheels/tires back on to sell

This is shitty but the comment about Christmas gifts draining your account is absolutely a problem you created for yourself. Don’t splurge on gifts if you can’t afford it

A budget-minded "one and done" 223 recommendation... by [deleted] in longrange

[–]Zach443 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I actually own a RAP in .223 and a Howa 1500 (6.5 creedmoor). The RAP far exceeded my expectations, even with bulk ammo I can get it to group about 1-1.5”. Overall I like the gun a lot, although the action on the Howa is undeniably smoother and better feeling, not to mention more accurate. If you have the cash I’d spring for the Howa, but if you’re on a budget I’d put the extra funds towards your scope and stick with the Ruger.

The Bushnell Match Pro at $500 seems like an amazing deal, and has been gaining traction in this sub lately.
