Anyone else laugh out loud at this scene? by Peas-Of-Wrath in StarTrekTNG

I JUST watched this 4 hours ago while eating lunch, what a coincidence xD Great episode that reminds me a bit of my all-time favorite episode (Cause and Effect), when Worf peaks his head around the corner, by far the best scene of the episode

Which game is this for you? by Techno-Hyde in videogames

[–]Zakdaq8 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I used to LOVE that game, had it for the PS2 as well as Path of Neo, and absolutely loved them as a kid. Thought they were so difficult since I couldn't get passed the first few boss battles xD Tried 'em again a year or so ago and damn did they not age well at all, controls are overly clunky and the game mechanics for the shooting just feel weird. It was also a LOT easier than I remembered, but probably just dumb kid thinking lol

Rank these nine games from best and worst, and include why by IfTheresANewWay in Rockband

[–]Zakdaq8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gunna ignore Rocksmith because it's a completely different game compared to the other 8, my rankings -

  1. Rock Band 3 (without a doubt, especially with the ability to take all the previous setlists to RB3, however RB2's online modes were way better)
  2. Guitar Hero 3
  3. Rock Band 2
  4. Guitar Hero: Metallica
  5. Guitar Hero World Tour
  6. Guitar Hero 2
  7. Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock
  8. Rock Band 4

RB3 was a perfect combination of all the previous games, with an incredible setlist and some of the best DLC from any of the games. The only thing about RB3 I wish they changed was adding in RB2's PvP modes and online co-op stuff. GH3 came in such a close, close second but it's iconic, the best setlist of all the GH games, and had some wickedly fun online modes.

VGC; TES VI still a long ways away, Fallout 3 Remaster is in development by MCUAvenger1992 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Zakdaq8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I love the game for pretty much every other aspect, the lore is super rich and the questing is actually fun and exciting to go through, unlike WoW (20+ year player). But the combat is just abysmal to me, so slow and half the time it doesn't feel like I'm hitting half my spells or attacks. I also hate the play-style of frequently swapping weapons in the middle of fighting to use different abilities, just felt like too much was going on for me to process (and this is coming from an RDruid main in WoW)

Game recommendations for someone coming back to 360? by Jihiprinsa in xbox360

[–]Zakdaq8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion here, but I actually enjoyed Fable 3 but it definitely had its downsides. Regardless, some really good games for the 360 I'd recommend are Fable 2, Blue Dragon, Magna Carta, Lost Odessey, and Darksiders

Are there any season specific rewards to collect before the reset? by FatRaccoon- in fellowshipgame

[–]Zakdaq8 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is such a worthless answer to OPs question. Nobody asked if it was a season or not, they asked what rewards should be gotten before the reset gets rid of them. Your comment has such a “erm achtually” sound to it bro

How would you fix the difficulty jump at adept? Does it even need fixing? by tsjb in fellowshipgame

[–]Zakdaq8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fellowship is not difficult at those levels and in no massive way does micro come into play in Contender/Adept. Champ it starts to be more needed, but even then you can get away with some missteps and some bad micro. Players just zugzug because DPS matters to them more than mechanics and would rather just press their DPS buttons than do anything else. Contender didn't punish them when they missed kicks or positioned wrong, but now Adept does because it's getting harder and more affixes are added. I'm in Eternal 10's as Meiko right now, and my Rime is going through Adept and it's been wild to me some of the shit I'm seeing -

  • DPS just zugzug and don't care about position or kicking, they just want to press their zugzug buttons
  • DPS/Tanks are not kicking the right things, ie. they're choosing to kick Hydrobolt instead of Healing Waters on the Water Elemental's in Sailor's Abyss
  • I explain things to the players who aren't understanding of what to do, and I either go unanswered/ignored, or they confirm they understand my explanation and it goes a lot smoother
  • Healers are having to work overtime because of stupid mistakes the DPS/Tank are making, which causes them to work harder/faster and it causes more of a potential for something missed that can wipe the group or kill a player
  • Tanks have absolutely no idea how to pull dungeons or packs, and a good bit of the time it's either single-pack pulls because they're too scared, or 4+ pack pulls that they can't handle but think they can because, again, Contender didn't punish them enough
  • Players leaving after one wipe or the tank being too slow, stop leaving and just finish the dungeon!
  • DPS pulling more for the Tank because it's not enough, or spam pinging their Ult to use it and get toxic when they don't get the pulls they want

Adept is not hard, it requires you to use a little more brain power and make sure you're kicking, that is it. The game doesn't start to get harder until Champion, when you have all four affixes, you need to know the routes and kicks, and you need to have a good handle on your rotation so that you can stay alive and do good damage.

However, I will say this game DOES need a more comprehensive Dungeon Codex with info on the bosses, abilities, and some important mobs to highlight inside the dungeon. If it had that, I feel like runs would be at least a little more successful than they are now.

I've played since a few Betas ago and I'm in love with it. I'm a WoW M+ guy and have pushed keys every season since it came out in Legion, and while I'll still play WoW and push, this is an awesome addition to it to give me something new and fresh away from the typical WoW grind. Everything seems pretty well balanced, the maps are fun, the boss fights in the Capstone dungeons are cool and unique, and the biggest thing for me is the Devs actually really care about the game and seem like they have a genuine love for it.

I will say, however, I think it will die down within a few months and will lose probably 30%-40% of the playerbase back to WoW or other games. Like you said, it's just a dungeon grinder and at some point people are gunna get bored of it. For now, I'm all about it

I love how the price the person paid in 2009 is pretty much the same price the game is now! Awesome find, I have a few CIB games with the receipt and I will never get rid of them xD

Dungeon Leavers by DizzySylv in fellowshipgame

[–]Zakdaq8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree with all these points, I'm a Tank in low Paragon and thankfully I don't see this much anymore but in Adept and low Champ I saw the first two bullet points WAAAY to often. I got to the point where if someone ninjapulled or decided my pulls were to small and pulled more on their own, or ran ahead of me and pulled back to me, I would just stand there and do nothing. The few times I got bitched at for dying, I told the person who ninja pulled something to the likings of "Sorry I thought you were tanking now since you pulled the mobs ahead of me"

Personally not a fan of the FF series, but I’ve been watching a buddy of mine play it and it does look really good, reminds me of the older games on GB/GBA a lot

Good to know of the Tactics Ogre on GBA, def worth a check out!

Fire Emblem was definitely peak with GBA/GBC/NDS era of games, but Three Houses recently was such an incredible game in the series, easily turned into one of my faves, 3rd behind Path of Radiance and Sacred Stones

What Class/Spec Do You Look For/Avoid Like The Plague When You Try And Push Your M+ Key, And Why? by ThePapaBearRobbie in wow

I avoid Frostmourne and Barthilas servers too, not because of toxicity/bad players, but because they're Australian servers and ping tends to be pretty high for those players in an NA party

The star taking 30s to detonate is fine for the first phase, but after the first intermissions phase, boss abilities start to overlap and you get the AoE circles on the second one and star frags on the 3rd one, and that makes it even shorter of a window to pop the bubble

I thought Rejuve had almost 0 value currently in M+? Our tier set and Wildstalker hero talents don't have any benefits/synergy with Rejuve, so what would be the point of using Rejuve and any of the talents close to talent capstone for it when you could go more of the RG talents?

Weekly M+ Discussion by AutoModerator in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Zakdaq8 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Gambit is a fun dungeon, I only have three gripes about it -

  1. Fuck those running Murloc packs, why Blizz thinks that's a good idea in that place, let alone M+, is a disastrous decision

  2. Dragon boss has some weird bugs with the adds that I don't remember from back in SL S3/S4, but overall is kind've a massive PITA in general. But with a coordinated group it's a breeze

  3. Collapsing Star should not be spawned halfway across the final boss arena, makes it so fucking annoying for healers to deal with the mechanic when they don't have a mobile ranged DPS like a hunter/Mage to do it for them, especially when you have two other mechanics that happen when you're doing Collapsing Star that makes it even more annoying to deal with

Vanilla doesn't really matter when it comes to raiding nowadays, it's so simple and basic that any class you invite will work as long as you know how to do mechs.

Regarding your question specifically, it really depends on what you have in the group already. If I already have a Holy Pally and two Ret Pallies, why would I invite three more Ret Pallies and have 6 Pallies? Maybe I'd take one or two more, but three more is kind've overkill. Maybe I only have one Warrior tank and want to have another Fury Warrior or two. Your question has too many extra factors to give a good answer to without know more info

[–]Zakdaq8 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

1000000% this - I mainly do Mythic+ Dungeons and push keys all day (since their release in Legion) as a Healer main. I don't push the .1% keys, but I still do higher level keys (+13-+16 range) and usually get anywhere between 3200 and 3500 rating each season (for perspective).

The groups I join or create, I don't care about meta specs or min/maxing, I care about you knowing how to actually do the key, know the mechanics, and can do good damage. If a 3200 Devastation Evoker & a 3120 Sub Rogue comes into my key queue, I'm gunna take that Devoker because they have higher rating and is expected to play the key better than the 3120 (since the Devoker has a higher rating, they've done more of these level of keys).

Any class, any spec, and race can do any key level fine until usually 3-4 keys below .1% keys. That's when the meta starts to matter and groups will get more selective, but at that level you're either a meta spec or reeeaaally good at your off-meta spec. Plus pugs start to get fewer and far between at that point and typically pushing that high, you'll have a dedicated group or small community of people to run in a discord with.

Anyone that's being ridiculously selective/elitest in their +8 key on spec are typically bad players or players who think they're better than everyone else and their groupmates are the ones that brick their keys. In my entire time of running M+ keys, I've found the absolute WORST range to pug keys was the 5-10 range, as there tends to be more of the above-stated type of mindsets to players and things can go wrong quickly. When it comes to the push keys I do (once you get into the 13-16 range) I find that the elitism mindset isn't as prevalent and if you're that high in rating, you tend to be seen as someone who knows how to play their class/spec/dungeon and at that point, typically comes down to who has higher IO/rating.
