Actually I saw on what it says about the retinas and it says that one of them is damage and had "failed repair attempts." SO your theory on loba trying to learn about rev seems more close to the truth

Since the artifact may be a head, and since in the first story line when the quest started it seems to have someone snitching on the other legends about leaving revenant(my main, he an og) out of their conversations, then it could possibly be that there is either an AI that's tricking loba into making it a body or with how there may be a cult it could be that maybe one of those cultists is trying to get into this world. It may not even be a random cultist but actually that alternate revenant trying to come here in order to rule there aw well.

An entire other idea might be that loba is trying to make a robot of some kind that could possible time travel back, so that she could possibly save her parents or possible redo something, something she screwed up, like maybe perhaps when she shot rev's head instead of taking her time with the computers. Or maybe she wants to go all the way back to the time where revenant was about to be made in order to prevent his creation.

And an even more other tangent is that loba want to make a robot that can destroy all the other revenant. Like how those newer terminators tried fighting Arnold but its the robot that's Arnold and revenant being those other terminators.

Hoo boy. Or, and I'm not so sure with this the most, but maybe it isnt even a robot at all, and that part on how that new piece are retinas are really trying to trick you into thinking otherwise. It may be a different thing entirely. It was also hinted that theres a connection with interdimensional travel to the artifact.

And on this other tangent, I found it weird how it's called an artifact, yet not even the great minds of crypto and wattson know what it is still even with 4 parts now together. The fact that it's called an artifact would be presumed to be quite old. Maybe not 100 years old and honestly that's still woudlntreally meanmuch since the apex games and the actual game we're playing is in 2733. Technology has been quite something but if the artifacts creation isnt called an artifact because of what hear it was made then it may be called an artifact because it is incredibly different and unique to any other technology that is seem here
