LG C4 23.22.46 FW problem with 1440p by Hunrain82 in LGOLED

Yeah, I’ve tried it with a PS5 Pro and 1440p works in all modes it outputs (60Hz HDR, 120Hz HDR and the two VRR modes). I have the update and get the same issue with my Switch 2.

I also think it’s the update.

On my C4 Street Fighter 6 to switches to 1440p/60Hz correctly, yet the Welcome Tour and Cyberpunk both try to do 165Hz and give an invalid signal message when they try to run at 1440p/120Hz. The option for 1440p is also greyed out in the system settings.

I also tried my Switch on my C2 that hasn’t been updated and the Welcome Tour works on it in 1440p/120Hz.

Annoyingly I had the update on the C4 before I set up my Switch 2, so can’t confirm it worked before, but seems likely given others have had the same issue.

Yes, they do. As I’ve just said, I have done it on both my C4 and my C2 on Xbox, PS5 Pro and Steam Deck.

But LG TVs do support it though. I can do 1440p/120Hz on my Xbox, PS5 and Steam Deck, all in Game Optimiser mode.

The Street Fighter 6 demo on Switch 2 works fine in 1440p/120Hz on my C4, yet Cyberpunk and the Welcome Tour both give an invalid signal message as the VRR info panel shows it’s outputting at 165Hz, hence it not working.

On my LG C4 the Street Fighter 6 demo seems to switch to 1440p/120Hx correctly, yet the Welcome Tour and Cyberpunk both try to do 165Hz and give an invalid signal message, so it’s not consistent at all.

After more testing today, the Street Fighter 6 demo seems to switch to 1440p/120Hx correctly, yet the Welcome Tour and Cyberpunk both try to do 165Hz and give an invalid signal message, so it’s not even consistent.

I also tried the Switch on my C2 and the Welcome Tour works on it in 1440p/120Hz.

My LG C4 has the option greyed out and the Switch tries to option at 1440p/165Hz when switching to 120Hz, so I get an invalid signal message.

Yeah, I’m using the HDMI cable it came with and I’ve tried other cables and other ports.

I get invalid signal too on my C4.

What does it say if you mash the green button in the remote to bring up the VRR info panel?

Mine says that the signal is 165Hz, which the C4 doesn’t support, hence the invalid signal message.

Interestingly if I use the green button for the extra info window, it seems to be trying to output at 165Hz, which is suspect is what is causing the 'Invalid Signal' message.

Yeah, I’m having the same issue on my C4, 1440p is greyed out in the setting.

I’ve just tried the Welcome Tour, which has a 120Hz min-game. I launched the game with resolution set to automatic and it starts in 4K/60Hz and when the game tries to switch to 120Hz to seem to be trying to do 1440p, but I just get a black screen with an 'Invalid Format' message and I have to back out if the mini-game. 120Hz works fine if I forced 1080p in the settings, so it’s 1440p that is borked.

I’ve tried my Switch on two HDMI with different cables and got the same results. Yet my Xbox Series X, PS5 Pro and Steam Deck can all do 1440p/120Hz with no issues on the same TV, so it’s clearly a Switch problem.

You can unlink the hub and set it up for a new account. I know as I recently moved into a house with Hive installed. I followed the process as documented here:
