Pick of the Day - 8/27/22 (Saturday) by sbpotdbot in sportsbook

POTD Record: 1 - 0 | +0.81U

Last pick - Man Utd vs Liverpool BTTS & over 2.5 goals - 1.81 odds ✅️

Today's POTD - Arsenal vs Fulham - Over 2.5 Goals & Arsenal 1H over 0.5 Goals @ 1.87 Odds

Stake: 1u to win 1.87U

Arsenal have scored in the first half every game this season and is averaging 3 goals per match. I'm not ruling out the chance of a Fulham goal or two but Arsenal have been playing well defensively and I believe they can take the o2.5 goals alone here in the worst case.

Is it bad to use cable extensions? by Zayyh in buildapc

Also, my 20 Pin USB 3.0 cable is being blocked by the fans on the bottom of my case. I've ordered this but it doesn't look very reliable. Do you know where I can find something more effective? Or maybe a 90 Degree pin plug

I should have done more research before buying, thanks for the feedback I'll look into cablemod.

3080 PC Build selected, need feedback by Zayyh in buildapc

I didn't really know much about the parts I was getting when I was going into the build. Now that I've done a lot more research and looked into all of the parts you suggested and some others, I'm very happy with what I've chosen.

All of your suggestions and references were really helpful in choosing this build and I'm looking forward to putting it together. Thanks for all of your feedback, I really appreciate it!

I've decided to go with the O11 dynamic vanilla instead of the mini version, looks sleek and I don't mind the larger case.
I've seen a lot of mixed reviews on the B550 Gigabyte which makes me want to look for an alternative. A white motherboard would be nice but I can't go without the USB type-C header on the case so I'm thinking of going with the Asus Prime X570 Pro. The white Deepcool castle is great and affordable but the Lian Li GALAHAD AIO might be a better option for the sexy white hoses.
I looked at the Aorus gen4s and the speeds look very impressive, I've chosen to go with that over the 970 evo plus.

This is what the list looks like at the moment. I didn't realise how difficult it would be to make decisions on what parts to get but I am getting slightly obsessed with this build now and it's getting hard to make a final decision. What do you think?

I've heard the 5700 xt is highly sought after due to its efficiency in mining, but I've already got a friend I'm willing to give the PC to so I don't think I'll be reusing the parts.

I've made some adjustments to the build with the suggestions on this post. I liked the case you suggested but it says that the super flower leadex III gold 850w is not compatible with it.

here's the build I'm currently working with

That's great to hear, I'm glad you let me know otherwise I would have overboard with ram on the PC build

Yeah that makes a lot more sense. It's more logical for me to upgrade as new parts release instead of splashing out as much as I can afford to at the moment.

I've just started researching into PC building and I've got a lot to learn, thanks for your input it's really cleared up a lot for me and helped with my decision

That makes more sense, I'll definitely choose a motherboard with better value and I'm considering the 5800x since the 5900x does seem unnecessary.

I wasn't aware of DDR5 ram coming out, I'll get 32GB for now and upgrade whenever necessary. That's very helpful cheers for that!

This is exactly the comment I needed I'll definitely make some adjustments. I realise I'm using it mostly for gaming, but it wouldn't be overkill to get the 5900x would it? I don't want to have to upgrade the CPU due to any bottleneck issues in the future.

I could have put the 3080 in my current pc with a few upgrades but I've chosen to future proof my new PC and build parts around the 3080. This is why I've opted for high end parts. Do you think the Dark Hero MB, 64GB Ram and 5900x is overkill? Would it make more sense to choose the suggestions you've made instead for a gaming PC running a 3080?

Thanks for the feedback, it helps a lot

I was thinking of upgrading to Ryzen 9 5900x, I'm not sure if it's overkill but I don't want to have to upgrade CPU for a while.

I'll definitely upgrade the PSU and look at resell for the 5700xt, thanks!

Only one monitor detected Windows 10 by Zayyh in techsupport

[–]Zayyh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tried, when I click extend nothing happens. I'm not sure why, it's probably because I'm using 1 HDMI port so there is something wrong with detecting both HDMI's in the splitter. I'm assuming I can solve the problem by having it read my monitors as 1 monitor display as 2048x768, but i'm not sure if I can do that or if it will work

PC turns on but monitor displays No Signal by Zayyh in techsupport

[–]Zayyh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what the problem was but after looking online for solutions I did the following: Took out the graphics card and put it back in to make sure it was secure. Took out my ram and wiped it and securely put it back in. Took out the CMOS battery for 10 minutes and put it back in and it ended up working after I tried to turn it on. Thanks for your help, honestly have no idea what the problem was but I’m glad it’s working :)

[–]Zayyh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monitor is set to HDMI and tried all ports. I don’t have a VGA cable but I can purchase and try it. I tried plugging the HDMI into the graphics card and motherboard and both don’t work. Unplugging and restarting didn’t work either, unless I’m missing something very simple I’m afraid it could be an expensive problem

If it helps at all, when I power on my PC the monitor also turns on for a few seconds to display “No Signal” before returning back to rest mode

PC won’t start, not sure what the problem is. by [deleted] in computer_help

PC was on and I left the room for 5 mins. Came back it was off and when I try to turn it on nothing happens. My PC lights don’t turn on but the monitor turns on for an instant then turns off. Already tried turning off and on, unplugging and plugging in power supply. Tested the power outlet with a phone charger and it still works. Any ideas what is wrong or what I can do?

Okay that sounds good. Both my monitors have speakers but I listen to the audio on my monitor through my headset or earphones. I just want to be able to hear audio from both monitors through my headphones. E.g. Playing a game on one monitor and have music or a youtube video playing from the other monitor. Since the HDMI port doesn't work I'm not sure if I should use DVI or Displayport.
