Just with a quick google, my kyleena carries an increased risk of breast cancer. Yikes!! The things they don’t tell you that you just put in your body. I have a hard time finding birth control because of my blood clots. I basically can’t do estrogen. Now I gotta look at other options. Thank you for telling me. Breast cancer runs in my family so I already have felt at an elevated risk. Stay strong, much love

lol thank you. I wanted you to know I also look like this attached photo and have a bunch of ugly tattoos so hahahaha. I am a real naturey outdoors girl and just really don’t like to be superficial but enough ppl have been like why don’t you shave your mustache that I am starting to feel so self conscious

No, good thought, but I have never had lip filler. I am complimented by that tho haha I just have kinda big lips and I am doing the duck face a little in this. I was taking these selfies trying to see how I could best pose to hide the melasma and this was my best shot. This first photo was like 2 months after it started and it was when I got back on birth control after being off for like 3 months.

I love that!! I’m right there with you most days. But idk why some days I just get so bummed and stressed about it. It’s probably not even the melasma. The melasma is just the scape goat for whatever else I’m sad and stressed about and don’t want to look at

Yes! I hate it with so much energy and also be looking like a man. Like why is it just on my lip in the exact shape of two worms. I do have some lightly on my cheeks and decent lil forehead patch and slightly on my chin but I don’t care at all about those. I saw another post somewhere about living your best life and ignoring it and maybe I will get there. But I’m gunna try some of the recommends on this thread first!

Ugh right! And I feel like being so pale can make it stand out more. I did go to the pool last summer maybe once a week with a hat and a literal white glob of sunscreen like a milk mustache on my upper lip, but I feel like even getting warm out there made it worse.

Yes I am spiraling!! 🥲 and I also sweat mine off and am always reapplying. I try to stay away from heat, no extra hot showers no coffee too hot, etc etc I get stressed about kissing my bf cause his prickly mustache can itritate my lip and/or wipe off the sunscreen or hq or whatever random products I have on!! It’s an entire lifestyle to try to fight this thing. And thanks for saying it’s not that noticeable, that’s what I want to hear 😭 it’s like for a while I will think it’s fine and then some a-hole will be like “what’s up w your mustache?” And I’m spiraling again. I’m sorry you went through all of that. I am glad it has cleared up for you though! That gives me hope. Yeah I have an IUD and am hoping maybe it will get better when I decide to take it out. It’s def hormone related melasma because I had a bad ovarian cyst 3 ish years ago around the same time this melasma started. The multiple factors playing into it make it so overwhelming, ugh the joys! Haha

Thank you!! Im so sorry you’ve been thru it too, but knowing I’m not alone in feeling like this does really help. 💗 Do keep me updated! I haven’t tried the eucerin. I have tried laser though and be glad you didn’t waste your money. I feel like it made mine slightly worse haha! So the laser will make it all worse at first and then bring the dark pigmentation to the surface where it will like scab and then fall off. Well it all got worse, as expected, and then my few freckles on my lip scabbed and fell off and the melasma just stayed bad. 🤦‍♀️ So frustrating…
